How long have you been writing books?

I started writing when my first son was in the NICU 21 years ago.

The Cartel is one of my favorite books. What was your inspiration ? I could easily see that book becoming a tv series.

Thank You, Lisa. The Cartel is probably to this day my favorite book. I would love to see it on TV. The inspiration actually came from my love of The Godfather series. I combined that with living so close to the border in San Diego and what occurs with the cartels that I thought it would be interesting to write a saga around it.

20 years is a very long time so I am no over night success, but now sales are going crazy and my books are hitting all kinds of bestseller lists. It's true about being patient, tenacious and following your passion. Plus, I have the most wonderful readers in the world. They are who I write for and I am grateful for each and every one every single day. People have called me a Pollyanna but I am good with that!
