I have been waiting for this book it seems like forever. I read this series when I was younger...it's been almost 11 years waiting...when is it coming out or how can i get a hold of it? I noticed someone reviewed it. What's the deal?

LOL I know what you mean. L.J. Smith had some family issues and had to take a break from writing. She made a sight online that you can look at. It contains some short stories that she has written for the Night World Series, and some new characters.
She is actually in the process of writing Strange Fate right now. She updates the site often and reports that she is writing it for the last time. In other words, this is her last draft.

Here's an exerpt from Wikipedia if it helps. "Though the release date for this book has been pushed back every year since 1999, LJ Smith remains dedicated to finishing the series for 2009. She has written a delay of the apocalypse into Strange Fate and plans to tie off all loose ends in this last edition to the Nightworld series. Each novel is supposed to be re-published throughout 2008 and 2009 in order to draw in new readers to the Nightworld series before it is concluded."
So hopefully our wait will be over this year!
I had noticed that they had begun re-releasing all of her books. Oh, She is coming out with a new book in the Vampire Diaries series called...The Vampire Diaries: The Return Volume 1: Nightfall (The Vampire Diaries)
It is about Damon, and is supposed to come out in Feb or March.
Sadly still no release date. I was doing some searching for information on this book & found L.J. Smith's blog from earlier this month.
It mentions that she rewrote the first part of Strange Fate & is still working out some other stuff. I'm beginning to doubt it will be released this year. :(
Yea I think that it will take another year...Ljanesmith.net you shoud check out her site, I am sure it says the expected release date...
I was at the bookstore today and had them look up the release date for this and they said January 2010, so we have a while to wait. :o(
It keeps getting changed! I have been waiting for it since I was in junior high, which was a LONG time ago! I was so excited when I found out it was supposed to be released last december, and then it changed to this december, now its jan...Ugh! LOL Im starting to believe that it will never be released...:(

they keep on pushing it back, I hardly care for this book anymore.
Okay people, for the ones that still want the so expected book, Barnes & Noble said that it would be released at April 2011. Yes... I know, we been waiting for this for so long, I just hope this date be definitive. I wouldn't like to have the serie incomplete. It happens the same with the last book of The Vampire Diaries, The Return: Midnight. It supposed to be released at the 2011 too, so I guess we should still wait and see how turns out. I hope this information may have been of good help, I always shop at Barnes & Noble and also take my time to ask about series of my personal taste, books not released yet.
Has anyone heard anything new as to the release of this book? Or why it is taking so long???
Amazon is saying 10/20/12. Wonder if it will happen this time. ; ( I just started the series a couple of weeks ago. I'm at the end of book 2, so everything is pretty fresh and I'm really looking forward to it. I wonder how many fans have given up and just don't care that it's coming in Oct. I don't know why she hasn't finished it before now, but i think this was a bad call on her part, as far as her sales go. I hope it goes well.
That Amazon date, for the audio version, isn't true. The audio publishers seem to just move the date every 6 months. Last I heard she's only halfway done writing it. I wouldn't be looking for it this year; it's not on the publisher's schedule through at least August.
Dani - On the second book? LOL...Settle in for the wait. Some of us have been waiting since the last one (Witchlight) was released - in 1998.
So I know I am dying for Strange Fate to come out and I know all of you are too. Recently on her website ljanesmith.net she posted a preview of Strange Fate which is amazing. It's about Poppy and James mostly but Phil and Ash are in it some too. I'm getting excited again for this book!
