Harry Potter vs Twilight discussion

Personally I like more Harry Potter than Twilight. First Harry Potter followed me during childhood so i guess it's normal to like it more since I grew with the series.
Second it's easier to believe that Hogwarts exists than vampires and that sort of things. I mean, I can't explain but I just like more Harry Potter.

Twilight it's so something we are used to read, with more series about vampires and I get tired about it, while that aren't many books about magic and things related to Hogwarts.

What about you? What do you think?

i love twilight but i like harry potter as well. the movies r very well done, on both sides. im switzerland here.

I love vampires but half of the twilight series is descriptions of how beautiful Bella or Edward look! It makes the plot too slow-paced so i think Harry Potter is better in the writing point of view.

I agree with Lilly, a little more work on the Twilight plot would've made a big difference on the final outcome of the series.

I think Harry Potter is good, because it is original and inventive. It has also stood the test of time and not become one of those series that drags on as the next books are released. I was captivated the whole way through and I felt the books matured and grew up with me.

Okay, so I'm not a hard Twilight hater, but I think that the story is waaaayyy too cliche. It's what I call a 'factory' book- being the same as sooo many other YA novels these days. It was predictable, had a mediocre writing style and was overrated. Despite this, I don't think it deserves the strong hate many angle towards it, but neither does it deserve the praise and adoration it got at the beginning. :)

i like both, i mean... i hate the whole roll-your-eyes romance in twilight series and i hate the predctable plot ending in harry potter. i hated the 2nd and 7th book in harry potter, 7th 'cause nothing really happened.

We never knew Fred would right right? Or that Lupis and Thonks would be killed. Nether there was a hint Dobby would be killed or even Sirius or Dumbledore. Still did you suspected Snape was the good guy after all this books? Nope. And he was. Or that he was in love with Harry's mother.

I'm sorry but the plot wasn't predectable. Twilight was predectable - everyone knew Bella would end with Edward.

Yeah, I suspected Harry would end with Ginny but I never knew. And I hoped Ron would be with Hermione but I repeat, I didn't know so was a big harry surprise when I discovered all in the last book.

In 7th book Harry finds all the horcruxes, Ron goes away, comes again. They enter in Gringotts, steal the horcruxe, fly in a dragon.. You say nothing happens? For me the last book is the best, it's the end. Where everything ends. A lot of people day. Yes, things happen. They may not be good, but they happen. So, sorry but I don't agree with you :)

i acctually knew snape was good. I knew that he once was evil but went good. i knew that dumbledor would die, i knew that severus would die, i knew that snape would die, i knew that voldy would die, i geussed snapes love for harry's mum, i knew ron and hemy would go together, i knew that harry would win....

my fav is number 3 then no.1, no.5, 6, 2 and 7


and the part where the three kept on moveing around.. i felt really bored at that part.. no action... the middle was the worst part... thats what ruined it for me.

I agree, Twilight is too samey Harry Potter is origional and new. And our generation grew up with it (well we did) so i think that makes me like Harry Potter more. And the baddies are SOOOOOOOO much better iin Harry Potter :D xx

harry potter's plot is original but the creatures aren't.

Due to medical problems in my childhood (i wont say what) i couldnt read as much as i would like to have done but i didnt grow up with HP, i grew up with the warriors series by erin hunter.

However, if i had i bet i would the same as some of u that love Hp. But I was definitely in love with the twilight series when it came out. Im a sucker for any kind of romance so that drew in, but i also loved the different abilities of the different vampires (alice, edward, jane, bella when she turns) but i felt also if she put more time in her books she would be absolutely amazing.
