Zombies versus Werewloves: Who would win?

I tend to agree with D.L.'s point. I would think that unless the folks who become werewolves were able to hide out all day the zombies would certainly have an advantage. Also, depending on the 'werewolf mythology' (film-makers and novelists seem to pick and choose when and how often the individuals turn) the werewolves would only have an advantage for six-eight hours each night or only several nights a month depending on the phases of the moon. You also have to consider any wounds/bites the werewolves might receive in their transformed state. Once they revert back to human, wouldn't the bite of a zombie turn them into one of the undead?
Steve, excellent points! Your last idea also raises the question, what happens to the infected shapeshifter once it's time to change back into a werewolf?
I'd have to say a hord of zombies might win cause at least one zombie should have silver dental fillings left :0)
I am interested in the zombie werewolf combination. Now this creature technically is dead but probably can't transform anymore so maybe is kind of stuck in the middle and with those long claws he or she could do some damage.
Werewolves all the way. Even if all of the zombies had fillings, most fillings(the ones that still use silver) aren't pure enough, I don't think. And many fillings tend to be in molars. Most people bite and tear with their front teeth.
I should think that the Lyco infection/curse would ward away the zombie infection in bitten werewolves.
If not, zombie werewolves would suck worse than fast zombies. Or the spiderman zombies from the Day of the Dead remake.
The silver dental fillings is a very creative, humorous point--LOL!Okay, what about non-traditional werewolves? For example, the type that can change at will.
As I said in my earlier posts, writers & filmmakers pick and choose the characteristics of their creatures, so in a way it is difficult to have one 'right' answer.Personally, I'd have the traditional werewolf (picture Lon Chaney, Jr. in the role) and your classic Romero slow Zombie. In any book or film the sympathy would go to the werewolf, simply because he/she would be outnumbered and very, vulnerable during the day.
D.L., your 'change at will' werewolf would have more of an advantage, unless caught off-guard. With his speed, strength and agility he could easily stay ahead of the hoard. He would probably only have to physically confront the undead at his own choosing.
Zombie-werwolves would be wierd. but could reanimated werewolves transform at the full moon??
there could be a new hybrid werewolf/zombie creature, they are both "infections" so they could mutate into something more horrific.
Unless if you play Skyrim, and being a werewolve turns out any disease.
Zombies to me are always at the top of the food chain. They never tire. The undead don't sleep. Do werewolves sleep? I would think so. They would be vulnerable because eventually they would be worn down.
Alisha wrote: "Zombies to me are always at the top of the food chain. They never tire. The undead don't sleep. Do werewolves sleep? I would think so. They would be vulnerable because eventually they would be worn..."Way to find a dead thread and bring it back to life.. ok zombies vs werewolves.
That depends on the type of zombie we are talking about here.
If they are the ones that eat humans only then all werewolf boy has to do is stay in his wolf shape and the zombies will leave him be.
Otherwise it would be "The Tortoise and the Hare" fable all over again.
And from that fable we learn the valuable lesson: Slow and Steady wins the endurance race every time.
Elizabeth wrote: "Oh, this is such a silly thread. Everyone knows werewolves aren't real."I (mostly) agree ... except for on TV series, movies, songs, comic books, posters and other wall art, Halloween costumes, tattoos, children fables, and nightmares. Other than that, there are no such things as werewolves.
Zombies probably are ... or rather quite possibly could be ... well ... maybe one day... Meh.
D.L. wrote: "Traditionally the only way to kill a werewolf is a silver bullet. But how would a lycanthrope stack up against a horde of the living dead?(There are different types of zombies and werewolves, so ..."
In my series they are immune to a zombie's bite and are man's best friend in combating the hordes.
I think if the werewolves bit the zombies the would probably turn into zombie werewolves, but they could just tear them apart instead. They're really furry so it would be harder for the zombies to bite them.It would be interesting to see a zombie werewolf since they are totally badass to begin with
I recently read a book with werewolves and Zombies. The Werewolves were immune from bites so no Zomb/Weres but could still be killed obviously if a large enough group surrounded them and tore them to pieces.
I agree with DI and Steve on all of their posts. But I think that the Werewolf would win although their not a werewolf the entire time. But they would still have strength and I would like to see what happens if they get bit, would they turn into a zombie-werewolf. That would be an interesting turn of events. But what if it mutated and made the werewolf stronger but a taste for human flesh? All of the possible answers but no true way to test them. What a shame. Be kind to one another!
So what type of kibble-n-bits would a werezombie eat? If a werewolf is a carnivore, would a werezombie become prefer humans, or become a cannibal of other werewolves?
So, most seem to believe the lycanthrope "disease" is stronger or somehow makes you immune to the zombie plague. What if it didn't? What if a lycanthrope bit into a zombie? Would he become infected just by letting the zombie plague agent get into it's mouth? If you were killing someone with say Ebola, you certainly wouldn't bite them. I'd say the lycanthrope's best defense would be speed and agility over power.
In a sense, a zombie is a re-imagining of the werewolf character. The pure animalistic man, with no control of their primal instincts. BUT...aesthetically they are different, and werewolves can shapeshift. Big advantage for stealthy purposes, but both zombies and werewolves have strong senses, especially smell. This is a tough pick.
A single werewolf verse a single zombie: Werewolf wins.A pack of werewolves verses a horde of zombies: Horde wins
Werewolves still have the ability to think & reason: to choose their battles, and they have a finite ability to "pack".
Hordes are killing machines. They do not care if they die. They do not care who is alpha. Their goal is to consume.
Well, according to Monster Squad, werewolves are immune to anything but silver bullets. Making them similar to the T1000 from Terminator 2, able to reassemble themselves. It'd take a while, but letting a few werewolves loose would really clear up that zombie infestation.

(There are different types of zombies and werewolves, so take that into consideration in your response.)
