Heyo hows bout we create our own book like use the same characters and stuff but write it ourselves and send it to john Falnagan and see if he uses and of our ideas that would make us like famous :D

Grinning, Skandian raider Archaon Harkon sliced through yet another group of the damn Temujai patrols. His shoulder still had an arrow shaft through it. He hefted his battle axe onto his good shoulder and looked at his surviving men. "Everyone able?" Archaon called out. He got a chorus of assent from most of his men.
He realized that he needed to call on Araluen, or the Temujai would overwhelm Skandia. To make matters worse, he could have sworn the archer who shot him had on the mottled cloak rangers wear, but this one seemed tattered. A defector, possibly? He couldn't be sure. Either way, things still looked bleak. He made his decision.
"Warriors of Skandia! We fall back and call upon Araluen for aid. LET'S MOVE!!!!!" His men leapt to obey.



((Good starter? This way everyone has a role. Araluen players can be relief force and Temujai player can be an antagonist.))

Katerina shrank away as she heard pounding footsteps on the road. The trees on either side were dark and overhanging, so she melted easily into the darkness. She fingered one of her three remaining weapons - a small ball of mixed chemicals and minerals that , when hit hard enough, would explode into billowing smoke. Being a young girl of fifteen alone on the road, she had learned to be suspicious of everyone.

Stones hooves pounded on the hard cobble stones,soon turning to compacted snow,she had been sent out with the relief force,and had decided to scout a days ride ahead,the small grey horse below her slowed to a stop"oh god...."she hissed hearing the Skandia warriors battle cries,and she grinned to Stone"c'mon"and the horse bolted,coming to stop at a man who seemed to be issuing orders"Sir,I'm Ranger Lucy Black of Araluen,i was sent ahead of the relief force from the kings men"she reported,a sly grin was the only feature that could be seen from the dark cowl"need any help mr.mister?"she asked,demounting Stone,who seemed to have the same sly grin

Katerina shrunk even further back as a horse and rider stampeded past her. She pulled her smoke bomb from her pocket. It looked like there was trouble - and where there was trouble, she ran. But, as she began to inch her way away from the direction the horse had gone, she paused, a voice in her head begging her, Come on, just go look to see what's happening. Katerina fought the urge for a moment, then, sighing, started silently through the trees, whispering, "You're a fool, Katerina, you're a fool."

Copper yanked at the tail of Lucys cloak,she turned around,telling Stone to stay she hurried after the puppy,then she aught sight of the girl"hello?"she asked,holding her saxe knife ready if she was attacked

Katerina slunk back a foot into the shadow, raising her hand to waist level, ready. Her dark eyes watched with caution this figure whose outline seemed to shimmer and fade out. She said nothing, though in her head she was chiding herself, You couldn't have just left, could you, oh no, that would be much too simple...

"i know your there,now who are you,and what is your rank"she said simply,copper laying down growling

Kat watched the growling dog warily. "I could ask you the same!" she called back, hoping her voice sounded more confident than she felt.

she grinned,since this girl offered no threat,she shrugged"Ranger Lucy Black,of Araluen"she said uninterestedly

"Oh really?" Kat responded, caught somewhere between fear and curiosity,"Mind calling off your hound?"

still caught up in the battle-lust, Archaon fought the urge to swing at the Ranger, for he knew it was a bad idea. Arluen rangers knew how to shoot, and they rarely missed. "I am Archaon. How did you arrive so quickly? I sent out the help request last night. Were you 'in the neighborhood?'"

Kat's eyes grew wide, and she shuffled back another foot or do. "Who's he?!" she squeaked.

"a warrior"she said,with a brief hand signal,sending Copper hurrying behind his master,barley coming above her ankle,then her bright blue eyes swung to Archaon"i was sent ahead as a scout,the main body of the war party is a days march behind me,but they might have sent out other scouts to patrol the surrounding area"she reported,fingering the recurve bow,not normal protocol for rangers but given her tiny stature,the fairly large recurve bow would suit her better then the massive longbow,the molten cloak was shielding her face from view"shall i get a' killin or would you rather wait a day or two while your country gets its a** whooped?last i checked ima here to whoop theirs"she said the little girl look gone,replaced by the foxish grin and piercing blue eyes

Archaon bristled, more from the knowledge his nation really WAS losing than due to the Ranger's attitude. "Aye, we should be a'killin. Ware, though, the enemy may have some of those..." He searched for the term. "Damn, I don't remember the name, those elite horse archers! Nasty buggers." The hulking warrior glanced back at his warriors, verifying that they still stood, then he saluted to the Ranger by clapping his axe against his leather torso armor. "Best be off, then. We got ourselves some Temujai to slaughter, eh Ranger?" Archaon laughed at the joke only a Skandian could fully appreciate, and rounded on his troops, bellowing orders to move out. He was slightly curious, however of the meek girl close by, so he turned and addressed her. "You, timid one. Who are you?"

Kats hand twitched as he rounded on her, ready at any moment to flee. "My name's Katerina.". She replied, before adding "And, despite outward appearances, I'm not all that timid."

she smiled briefly,fake,then her eyes swerved back to Kat,but saw the warrior was looking after her she lunged into battle,picking them off easily,aiming for the Kajin,quickly taking 5 out in the matter of seconds,then working on disposing of the military officers,but first having to shoot through the half Ulan surrounding them

((The Temujai army divides its units into sixty man platoons called Ulans. In each Ulan there is a Kajin, a specially trained marksmen trained to target and remove enemy leaders. Also, each high-ranking military officer has a half-Ulan of thirty men at his disposal.))

Kay yelped as the warriors charged in perfect unison. One came towards her , hefting a massive battle axe. She pulled out her blade, a knife the size of her forearm, shook her head, before throwing her explosive at the ground and disappearing into a cloud of heavy smoke. She stumbled further back into the trees, hoping that she wouldn't have to fight with just her pitiful knife.

lucy threw one of her knives,hitting the temujai square in the back,making him crumple t the ground with a sickening thud she had heard far too many times,then she was back to shooting,when a temujai fell near her she would strip him of all weapons,taking the arrows for herself

Kat coughed through the smoke, which was beginning to spread. She was unwilling to run without a direction, and she couldn't see the sun or find the road. She was beginning to wonder if using her smoke bomb had been a good idea.

Archaon hacked down the four Temujai nearest him, and turned in time to see the smoke bomb go off. "Where's SHE off to?" He turned back to the battle and barked out a series of 'hold ground' orders, then wheeled off to follow the young girl, to make sure the little lass came to no harm.

Lucy saw him leave in her peripheral vision,she growled somethings but didnt leave her position

Kat crouched on the balls of her feet, ready to spring away at a moments notice. The smoke hurt her eyes making them water, and her lungs felt much the same. Rubbing at her eyes, she peered into the fog. A huge shape appeared to be lumbering towards her. Wary, and unable to tell friend from foe, she hefted her knife.

Not knowing of his danger, Archaon stride through the smoke, axe at the ready.

Kat screeched and slashed blindly towards the figure as it suddenly reared out of the darkness. She felt metal scrape metal and sprung back, hoping to find some protection in the semi-concealment of the smoke.

at the screech of metal,Lucy twisted around,seeing the smoke she dashed towards the danger

Kat felt her foot slide out from under her and she quickly scrambled forwards - it seemed that she was at the edge of a steep gully. She was trapped, and now there was another set of footsteps approaching. Baring her teeth, she mentally screamed a challenge, ready to fight back if she could no longer run.

Drawing her throwing dagger and Saxe,she slipped silently towards a towering figure and a smaller cowering girl"hello,what are you doing here?"she hissed

Hearing a voice out of nowhere, she whipped towards it, raising the knife to her eye level. "Not your friend I'd wager." she replied, voice wavering and cracking, much to her annoyance.

"better put that down or you might just lose it,hand and all"she growled

"Rather a hand than my head." she retorted, leaving the knife where it was.

she raised her Saxe to eye level as well"well why?the head would be a lot quicker?"she growled,smiling

"Yet the hand is more easily replaced." Kat shot back, feeling more confident in a battle of wits and words than one of metal and blood. She was ready to, at any moment, avoid a blow from the other's weapons, and go shooting into the smoke. And of course, there was still that towering other figure, who she kept an eye on.

"but you wont be able to run off and get a doctor,your on foot,our,well,my horse could easily outrun you,and if you keep lurkin in de shadows people will deem you as an enemy,sides,who would replace it?you would just run away and bleed to death in a shrub,whimperin in pain"she said coldly,mismatched eyes slitted"you come with me and prove you aint no enemy,no one loses any limbs and you can keep the knife with you if you still think i will try and kill you,and i'll send you on your merry little way,deal?"she said
