P.S- Don't forget the Film Fest on the 1st June too! :)
Hello, I'm Olivia.
I'm an avid reader who in the past month has lacked the time to read as voraciously as I'd like. haha.
However some of my favourite books/series are Harry Potter, In Death series and the Night Huntress.
Harry Potter films are amazing, but every time the book pretty much beats it for me! I can't help but fall in love with the words.
The Hunger Games I also loved and the film was brilliant. I'm actually really excited for the next film! However, the first book just had the edge for me.
I'm generally a person who's adamanant that I read the book before the film, but I didn't with Twilight, and I watched Percy Jackson and the Lightining Thief, The Lord of the Ring, Eragon and My Sister's Keeper and a few others I probably can't remember without reading the books and now I have those still to read. It always makes me dubious to read a book in the wrong order to the film because I feel like watching the film spoils it for me. However I do love reading books and then watching the films and seeing how they interpret it.
What makes me really sad is when they take a fantastic book and ruin in. To be honest I have read some books based on watching the film, such as The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge, which was a fantastic book and the film name I cannot remember, something about moonarche. Both good versions!
*Sigh* haha.
Sometimes I do find that I have a real problem with books made into films despite loving them all with equal vigour!
Feel free to add me as a friend to discuss books more avidly!

Hello everyone, I'm a mad film and literature fanatic...will watch most movies...although don't like the blood and gore films with hardly any story to them! Grew up watching old black and white movies ( although I'm not that old thank you )and now love anything! There are also a few TV programs I'm addicted to, nice to 'meet' you all x
Dear Sarina and Michelle,Welcome and thank you so much for joining this group & i hope that you have fun, discuss and enjoy yourselves!

As always, I’ve only just realized that I skipped the introductory phase of my group initiation. Anywho, my nom de plume is Luna and I’m a bookaholic. Books are my oxygen. I eat, sleep, and breathe books. Even when I’m not preoccupied in unraveling the mysteries of a good book I’m lost in my own spifftastically non-sensical imagination dreaming up my next adventure. I suffer from a Peter Pan complex, I’m a crazy cat lady, and I like to collect absurdly fantastic hats. I could never name my favorite book or movie(though Wizard of Oz is my default answer my favorite film changes depending on my mood). My favorite genre is fantasy, with specific regards to YA. I also enjoy reading classical literature on account of the enchanting language of times past. My favorite classical authors are Jane Austen, Victor Hugo, and Jules Verne. I’m a third generation Trekkie and a second-generation Star Wars fan. I was reared on many of the classic foundations of modern science fiction including the X-files, the Twilight Zone, and Quantum Leap. There’s a rule in my house: if a film has aliens, we will watch it. I’m an avid collector of hobbies as I have a restless soul that demands to do creative things several times a day. Presently my hobbies include: knitting, sewing, beadwork, gardening, macrame, tie-dying, baking, scrapbooking, blogging, calligraphy, astronomy, and genealogy. Like most avid readers I aspire to be a published author. While I’ve had a few academic publications through my university I have yet to have any creative work published(save for one poem in highschool). My goal this summer is to finish a novel. Additionally—and this is very important—I love mint chocolate chip ice cream.
:) Thank you Lunaraven for joining this group and i do hope that you enjoy the discussions! Don't forget the 'film fest' that begins on Friday 1st and hopefully more events shall be coming up too. Xx

Hi, thank you so much for this group! I have enjoyed reading the posts and am looking forward to participating regularly. I have to say that I very much enjoy the informality!!!! My name is Angela and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who lives in New Orleans. I love books, films, and music of all types and am very open to learning about new things!
I adore the obscure, and, in terms of books, read just about everything if it peaks my interst. Mystery, horror, historical fiction, psychological thrillers,
non-fiction and anything that comes to mind or is brought to my attention.
I am very interested in reading indie writers' work, and love a dark sense of humor!
Dear Angela,No thank you! Without the members this group would not work, so it is all of you lovely and enthusiastic people that i persoanlly have to thank.
(Is it really that informal?? oh, dear! normally i would say i am rather formal & serious? but perhaps this is a good thing, as long as everyone enjoys the discussions).
Thank you again for joining and i do hope that you enjoy the variety of discussions within this group, that cater to all tastes and interests. Tomorrow on Sunday 10th June there is being held a 100 members party, as a celebration to all those who have made this group possible and it would be great if you came & joined in all the fun!

P.S- Don't forget to check out the video's section regularly as there are movie trailers and parodies that are updated constantly. :)

No! Not that informal, I just meant that it seems to be a very comfortable place to converse! I value a certain level of informality so that I don't feel that I have to overthink what I write before I write it!

Dear Angela,That is very reassuring to know, as this is how i would converse with any friend! I am pleased that you are a member of my group and i do hope that you can join the party tomorrow (if you are able to)!

I would love to! I just had an experience in another group that seemed so very stilted, and that's why I said that about the informality. As a social worker, it is difficult for me to state things in way that is misrepresentative. I have always been a voracious reader and am finally getting back into poetry and photography, so it is wonderful to find a group that allows for all perspectives!
thanks for the invite to such a wonderfully active group :) I haven't had the time to read or watch much recently, but will jump into the discussion when I can!
Hi everyone! My name is Vessy :) I'm so glad I found this group because I just love books, movies and tv shows, especially when they're mixed together. Of course my favourite ones are The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Twilight. I cannot wait to see The Hobbit, The Host and Fifty Shades of Grey. Naturally, I have tons of other books/movies I like and I'd love to share them later on in some of the discussions here :)
Dear M.R,I would like to thank you for joining my group and i do hope that you enjoy it and the variety of discussions that there are, to cater to everyones indavidual taste! I am holding a 'party' today for 100+ members and would like to thank you also for making this group possible by your involvement. I do hope that you enjoy discussing all your favourite films & take a look in the 'videos' section for new movie trailers!
