I'm still hanging with it. There has been some movement to organization that might be bigger than the monster hunt of the week, but it's certainly reached "Kolchak status" and that's all Kolchak was. (The Night Stalker). And I loved Kolchak.
I like the monster of the week motif. I also like that there is a developing underlying conspiracy.
Have you watched it lately Curmudgeon? It's moved into conspiracy plot area with Nick putting things together. (view spoiler)
Anyway I like it. I date back to Kolchak and (in my opinion of course) this is plotted far better. I have high hopes now. Looks very good.

Yes, I have, though I am always one to two weeks behind. I thought the "Gladiator" show was pretty cool. (Pitt Fighting).
The Werewolf guy is still oddly amusing through uniqueness and sometimes actually funny.
It's definitely firming up. The conspiracy thing was there in the early show, but your right, now they are starting to bring it out and let it get deeper. (the blond and the Were...heck, they named him once... I forgot) that (view spoiler) it's definitely cooler.

That's a few shows back, there's been a lot since the pit fighting episode. Next week looks interesting to (previews). Nick has started to move out of his "only a cop" mode.
I'm also wondering about his finance. My daughter thinks she'll turn out to be some big threat. I'm wondering if she won't be tied in with the captain. Something has to shake out there.

Iv'e wondered the same thing. Maybe she's not in league with the big bad, but linked to it, like the big bad's daughter ... she'll have to choose good or evil... I like a good "Luke, I'm your father!.." Theme.
That'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Your daughter may be right. Right now "The big bad" (to coin a Buffy - Spike term) looks like the captain, but I think he's just a captain and there's a bigger bad out there somewhere that we haven't seen yet.

and by the second "captain" I meant a captian in the dark forces... higher up than a Lieutenant...
Well we've seen a few of his "old world" contacts showing up in the last couple of shows, but he's apparently playing his own game or tied in with a group playing their own game.
The reapers are back next week and there was some connection with them early on.

I like the Kolchak formula too. When it's done well, and they did it well. It didn't work so well for Alcatraz, but their turning up the mystery heat there too.

Yea... one thing I like about that show, is the bad guys (the Blue Bloods...yes catchy play on words there too) actually look as scary as they are weird. At least their monster face does. The spice shop keeper thing was cool. That's a good place to bring in as a repository of knowledge for Grim to tap into.

I'll put this under a spoiler tag. I don't think it's a big spoiler, but I'll leave it to you to read it or not...

Hoo-hoo-wow! that sounds really cool. I can't wait! (I need to goose my wife...(view spoiler) .. and watch it. We'll be caught up by Sunday Night, I think.
I need to find something if I want to watch TV Sunday...Full Metal Jousting finished up last week I think.
Okay so 2 shows I'm really into that are still running "new shows" Person of Interest and Grimm. (Justified has already been renewed, I read today they might start the "new season this Nov. or Dec.)

PoI is still cool. I thought we'd see Paige Turco again, but that was a one timer...well a two timer counting the first one.
We still watch Grim, PoI, Fringe (that has turned around and gotten better for me too), Hawaii-5 OH which has managed to stay good in the gritty cop show and Miami Vice tradition. And stayed okay with the original. Too different to say its the same but they've at least tied to pay homage to it. I like it. They gave up on that subtle second layer of complexity it had when Jack Lord was running things. (and the theme song still rocks!)

I need to try it. I have been watching Awake, but it's still meh. I saw it probably won't be renewed, don't know. Of course I left out Big Bang Theory, I like it, but it's not exactly "action".
I'm thinking of re-watching Grimm now and maybe the Person of Interest programs that are on On Demand. The last 2 weeks of PoI have been reruns.

I like The Big Bang Theory. I've got the first season on CD. I don't care when I watch that show. It always cracks me up. My wife, who's met my old "tabletop RPG group from High-school and before the Navy" still laughs and says it reminds her of us.
... I don't get it...(cough) no resembalence right? (cough, cough).

I'm sure you and your Dungeons and Dragons friends are the epitome of cool Hugh. Pay no attention to opinions otherwise.
I know LadyD. Looks like (view spoiler)

Well, I don't know. There was one time when I was around 20 before I joined the Navy and my mother had started dating before, the lot of us about 7 or 8 plus me and my brother were doing our thing around the table (it included beer and pizza) when my mother and her date came home. All we heard was...
"Let me introduce you to my boys."
The minute they stepped in, everyone went "Hi, Mom."
We never heard from the guy again. (No guts no glory as my mother says.)
We were a rather, scrungy looking if also Nerdy Lot.

and crown royal...how else to you get those need looking felt bags that hold sooooo many of those poly-hedron dice?
Yes. Grimm's sort of put himself in a Lawful Neutral position, sort of forsaking the Grimm Tradition in favor of criminal justice... should be interesting.
He actually went chaotic good last time out... You'll see what I mean when you see the latest episode.
See, and people once thought that those old Alignment definitions wouldn't ever be put to good use. I understand exactly what you mean!
Of course you did...silly mundanes. The Alignments are self clear as a paladin's conscience... well, most paladins.
It's what the people at conventions (game, comic, sci-fi etc) call people not in the crowd...the non-nerds. I was invited to the wedding of a couple of friends of mine a few years ago at a sci-fi convention. Everybody was in costume (the guy performing the wedding was dressed as Dr. Evil) . I was in a black suit and almost tagged a mundane...till they noticed my neck tie was decorated with small replicas of the Superman S insignia. :)

LOL you were in your secret identity then huh?
I made "Dalcon" one year. My friends and I, one of which is out there somewhere Roger... are you listening....hmm competed in one of the funnest versions of D&D I've ever played.
Head to Head (Team vs. Team). One DM going between two shielded boards. It was like Medieval fantasy chess. We took 2nd, loosing the final battle in the wee dark hours of the next morning, moved to a hotel room because it was taking a long time.
Here's a tip, always remember that a Monk can really move in the last half turn of a combat series...a ring of regeneration can pay off, if you can use it just before they tally the score.

LOL. My best character (I think I've DMed more than played as a player, but had a weekly game as a player for a few years) was (as you probably guess) a Paladin. Paladins of course can only "own" 10 magic items other than their Holy Sword. Over the run of the game I gathered up rings of protection for fire, cold, electricity and so on. Since I couldn't use all the rings at once I "gave them" to the wizard and he'd loan them back to at need. I was also the groups tank.
Love D&D...yes, I'm a nerd.

We're way behind in the UK but really enjoying Grimm so far (and Touch and Homeland and AGoT... there's so, much to watch at the moment!)... :)
I hate cliffhangers.
Pretty good close...I kind of thought (view spoiler) I hope the writers can resist the temptation to get cute and screw it up. I'm really into this program, first time I've gotten into a TV program in years.
Maybe I'm just getting older.

Hey, yea, him. I'm in a period of upheaval ... simple facts are hard to come by in my brainstorm conditions.
it's funny, i can remember shows from the seventies, but now days, things get a little busy and i can't remember my kids names. I'm like Bill Cosby's Dad.."hey, you, sam, bill gabi, Noah... what's your name? and don't lie to me, you live her I'll find out!"
...not quite that far yet, but yeah "stuff" from when I was younger is clearer that some more recent "stuff". I hate "reaching for" a word and not being able to come up with it.
I know what you mean about cliffhangers. As far as this cliffhanger goes it wasn't to bad. I thought the finale was pretty good. Haven't watch alot of the shows this season and I had no problem knowing what was going on. I think it improved as the season went on.
I have to laugh because the last seven post are just (view spoilers), here comes another.(view spoiler)
