And I'm curious, what other areas do you find intriguing?
About my research. The current study I'm running involves religious priming and following of a leader. We want to find out if when participants are primed with religion, they are more willing to follow a leaders decisions rather than formulate their own. So far we haven't seen an effect for that, but it's only 25 participants in.

And I too am intrigued by automatic and controlled processing. There is various stereotype research out there that is similar to that.
And as for my research, it has a back story. They're, in a sense, follow up studies that others have done on terrorism and religion due to 9/11. We question how and why people act in the name of religion (We are aware, of course, that it is in the name of religion, but not necessarily because that's what the religion states).
Since our university is located in an area with a high population of Christians/Catholics, we prime with words like: heaven, faith, soul; to name a few.
We also have two questionairs after the study for demographics, one for religiosity and the other for submissiveness. We do that in order to see if there is an effect for only religious, or submissive religious, or only submissive. But like I said, we still need more participants.

I love reading up on Psychological experiments.. which is probably why I got a degree in Psychology! There are a bunch of interesting studies I've come across in my studies. Relating to your "follow the leader" priming, there was an interesting study done on conformity. You've probably read about it but I thought I would bring it up! It was conducted back in the 50's by Solomon Asch and the principle is still used today. It's about how confederates all would give clearly wrong answers which would make the participant give the wrong answer too (since they did not realize these people were in on the experiment). Interesting stuff!

Rafael, I am very interested in this study. I haven't conducted any studies myself, but if you would be willing, I would love to be involved. You could use me a subject, a control or experiment. Send me a message to let me know more about it, if you don't mind.

I didn't see a post related to research exactly, so I thought I would post and ask if anyone else was interested or conducting research on anything psychology (cognitive, behavioral, social, neuro...).
I'm currently taking part in a study involving religion, terrorism, and submissiveness. I have more social and cognitive research lined up as well.
I am always looking for new and interesting studies, or even old studies I just haven't been introduced to. So if anyone else is interested in research, please comment.
