I'm bored and feel like playing a game, and picking the brains of my fellow readers of Paranormal Romance books.

I'd like to start an A-Z game filled with words associated to the world of PNR. Answers can be authors, book titles, characters, literary places, etc.

To make it more interesting, add a tidbit of information, recommendation, comment, etc. about your chosen answer, so we get to learn more from the group's reading experiences.

D-ageaus MacKeltar, hero of Karen Marie Moning's "The Dark Highlander." The first book of hers I picked up, chosen because of the cover. I went on to read everything by her I could find.

Alpha males, time travel, magic, hot sex!! What more could you ask for?

Stephanie Meyer's 2nd novel in her popular Twilight series.

F-rancesca Lia Block. I don't know if this counts as paranormal romance, but it's urban fantasy! :) Block writes mostly teen fiction, and has a beautiful prose style, very sensual and vivid. Her most popular series is centered around a girl named Weetzie Bat.

Someone else may want to post a more genre-appropriate F entry?

G-ood Will Ghost Hunting: Demon Seed

The title of my first book in the Good Will Ghost Hunting demon series (writing as Lesli Richardson) coming from Lyrical Press in April.

Think Men in Black meets Ghost Hunters, where the demons are the GOOD guys.

H -ell on Earth Series

Jackie Kessler's series about a former succubus,now a stripper in New York.

I picked the first three books from the library and is waiting to be read. So I don't know yet if they are any good.

I-ndustrial Magic by Kelley Armstrong. Okay, I cheated. I picked this one because it started with an I but really anything by Armstrong is amazing.

J -ean Claude

St. Louis Master of the City and Anita Blake's sweetie...I think one of the hottest vampire ever put in print, in my opinion. *drools*

I always loved Jean Claude until Micah came along. And Jason. Love Jason too. Richard's became too whiny for me.

I like Micah and Jason, too. I can't stand Richard at all.

G-abriel Seran, from Lynn Viehl's book, Night Lost.

He's a tortured vampire rescued by a thief. His book is ironically the least favorite of mine from the series because it focuses so much on the couple versus the larger plot across all the books, but I love this series. Very unique take on vampires, once knights templar and historical greats, now a sophisticated secret society who own whole cities. Plus, the romance is super, LOL.

H-owl at the Moon by Christine Warren.

Thanks for going back to G so I could add this one. Love Christine Warren, her series is very entertaining.

Good point, Tymber. As I say its all fun and games. By the way, I'm checking your books and Good Reads doesn't seem to have the Good Will Ghost Hunting.

That one's due out in April, but Love and Brimstone (writing as Lesli Richardson) is out. And I've got Out of the Darkness coming on 1/19.

First book of Robin T. Popp's Nightslayer series, about a mythical creature, chupacabra, whose bite can turn a man into a vampire.

Phury- member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood

He is the loyal one, the one who sacrifices himself for others. Phury is Zsadist's twin brother and a celibate who cannot truly live because of everything his biological brother has lost. Used to giving rather than receiving, he needs love coming back at him to bring him alive.

Q-huinn, newest member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood and my new favorite Brother. I'm hoping there's a menage in that boy's future.

Vamp hero of Midnight Awakening, 3rd book in Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series. I call her books BDB lite, because they remind me so much of Ward's books. Another fun series to check out.

U - rian

Son of Stryker - Daimon killed by his father for marrying the enemy - Dark Hunter series

V-irginia Kantra, author of the Children of the Trilogy. Very sexy, very emotional series about selkies. And Virginia's just the nicest person.

W-ings in the Night by Maggie Shayne, including the first three stories of the series, Twilight Phantasies, Twilight Memories and Twilight Illusions.

A little explanation for jumping in with two: Maggie's Twilight Illusion was the first true PNR I read. (Interview with a Vampire doesn't count, not a true romance.) Until that time, I didn't know there was such a thing or that Silhouette published a whole line of them. I was hooked and started to devour every PNR I could get my hands on.

I truly believe Maggie is to thank (or blame) for my chosen specialty in the PNR.

Author of the Sisters of the Moon series about three sexy half-human, half-fae sisters: aWitchling, a Changeling, and a Darkling.
(Sorry, couldn't think of an X and just could not pass up the chance to mention Galenorn. I love her series.)

I want to read her, but I'm having a hard time finding her older works. Also, I get confused with the titles, because some of them seem to have been rereleased with different titles. Maybe you can help me out?

Yz, the first three stories are Twilight Phantasies, Twilight Memories and Twilight Illusions, which were packaged together in Wings in the Night. Then there's Born in Twilight. After that, I get fuzzy on order.

I bought mine so long ago, maybe they have them on Amazon?

B-lue Moon, the first in Lori Handeland's Nightcreatures series. Really enjoyed the strong heroines in those.

C - Cullens, the fabulous family of vampires from Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series.

D - Damien, the hero (and title) of the 4th book in Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalker series.

E - Edward Cullen *sigh* Too bad he doesn't really exist.

F-aith Nightstar, she's a clairvoyant and the heroine in Visions of Heat, the second novel in Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series. It's great if you like just a touch of scifi ala mental advancement, shifters, and great characters and plot (political scheming, yay!). And her men are to die for. Rawr. ;)

I love this series. I just finished the first 2 books...waiting to get my hands on the third one.

Oh, the third one is even better, Yz! Judd made my heart go pitter patter, LOL.

And they just keep getting better, Yz. Singh is an autobuy for me. And make sure you get the anthology An Enchanted Season, great novella in there.
