I have many but my very favorite is Afternoon of an Autocrat by Norah Lofts. I guess the number two fav might be The House on the Strand. I really like the style of writing. I have also read Penmarric 7 times!
Alice
Alice
My favorite is Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead. I love its hero: Howard Roark. Next is Ayn's Atlas Shrugged.
umm, frog princess is easy, marley and me is sorta adult-ish, and twilight is love. i think my favorite one is the frog princess or twilight, but i couldn't find any at book stores or libraries...
I haven't been reading much lately--have been sad because of personal issues. What book will help me move from this? I can't read genre fiction right now, but need to find something that speaks to me and moves me. I have thought about reading Shakespeare, but I don't know if any of the plays or sonnets can hold my attention since I've read them so many times. Any suggestions?
I find Paulo Coelho's books very moving....I like all of them, but By The River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept and Veronika Decides To Die are the one that speak to me the most. I hope your feeling more happy soon....I will have a look at my shelves tonight for the other things I read when Im feeling sad....I have gone temporarily blank!
Right now (a.k.a: at the current), it's Lady and the Vamp
now my new one (yes, I can change so easily) is Marley and Me... I cried and cried.
