'Knives"-Zane and Vin, the knives of the two rulers...doomed I say, doomed.

Yet we FINALLY find out who the kandra spy is...Duh! and I didn't have a dang clue!

But now the wild goose chase starts...This should end well! NOT

Ben (bstanley52) | 39 comments This section really is the highlight of the book. The big climax, including the big reveal, was quite well done. I totally didn't see the identity of the spy coming, though in reading his annotations I can see where he did set it up, I just wasn't paying attention and reading very fast.

I really like the epigraphs/chapter blurbs/whatever you call them in this book. They reinforce a lot of the things the characters are chasing and reveal certain inconsistencies... ;)

yup-I got to say that Sanderson does a good job of setting up the twists...it is there to see but I keep missing them! Adds a lot to the book I think

Lee (kiwifirst) I agree, it is still like a roller coast ride. There a moments of great writing there, when the spy is revealed and the battle with Zane was entertaining. I think the premise of the journey from Sazed was a little to easy to convince the duo to go, it all fell way to neatly into plan.
Although I do like the way that they find out the dodgy plan and are now reacting.

Suzanne | 212 comments The spy's identity suprised me as well. I did like things getting resolved with Zane, and the voice in his head (view spoiler) The "Oh I'm not good enough for him/her" between Vin and Eland got a bit much though.

The last section of this part was great. I really enjoyed the story and pace it has taken as we move towards the end. I was absolutely crushed when Zane called to OreSuer/TenSoon. I actually felt betrayed myself, but that of course is what made it so good. I hope the kandra comes back into the story. As for the fabricated story to get Elend and Vin to leave Luthadel, well, I have a feeling that while the story was a ploy to get them out of the city, something is going to come of it. I have foundered some on this book, but mostly for real life getting in the way of spending time with the book, but as I near the end, my fervor for the story is picking up steam and I am intrigued to see where it all goes.
