Elder Griffin is great..I love reading about him.
I shouldn't have read the excerpt though because it's only made the wait harder.

I wonder if we get to see a negative view of Terrible in this short story? As in how she used to see him, before she realized he was so much more.............sighs...............

There's a bit of explanation throughout that the Elder who ran particular departments were always looking at the students, to see who they wanted to have on their teams. Kind of like scouts.

That end glimpse of Terrible was brill! Chess's perception of Terrible's looks have come a long way..I bet she never thought she'd be attracted to him:P

I enjoyed the scenes with Elder Griffin and Doyle..was it just me or did Chess seem to fancy Doyle quite a bit? Also Was Jillian coming onto Chess or was Chess just being paranoid?

I liked Trent and Vaughn and their interactions with Chess..I kind of want them to appear in future books. I prefered Trent over Jillian, Jillian was very
snake-y, at least Trent didn't pretend to like Chess.

I wonder if Chess will ever go back to being blonde.

I wonder what her reaction would have been if someone told her that muscle man would end up being her reason for being in a few years? Lol.

After finishing FM, I have to say (view spoiler)[I have a much better understanding of her reasons for falling into the drugs. It still breaks my heart that she needs them, but I do understand.

For no where near the same reasons at all, I had (and still do to some extent) have a huge aversion to being touched by people or even talking to people most of the time, especially ones I don't know. It causes a lot of social anxiety for me. People I don't know trying to get to know me? Always makes me wonder what their agenda is. Thank god for the internet or I would have almost no close friends.

I started drinking (fairly heavily) at a pretty young age and luckily for me by the time I turned 21 it had lost its thrill for a variety for reasons and I never fell into any of the heavier drugs (or any of the lighter ones for that matter) because of the little bit of a support system I had. (hide spoiler)]

So yeah. I get Chess a little more now. I enjoyed Finding Magic a lot!

I loled at the description of Terrible a the end. <3

Oh, not just you. :-) She did. (Remember, she ended up sleeping with him eventually.)

As for Jillian, Chess was just paranoid. But Jillian was a bit...odd, anyway. She was basically kind of an attention whore who wanted to feel like everyone was attracted to her/liked her. She wanted admiration and adoration from Chess, and wasn't thrilled when she didn't get it. So there was kind of a weird undercurrent there, but it wasn't sexual on Jillian's part so much as her expecting Chess to be more in awe of her and she was a bit annoyed that Chess wasn't, if you know what I mean. :-)

We're working on it re FM!! HOME you'd have to contact Macmillan about; they have World English rights, so it's up to them to distribute internationally. Out of my hands, I'm afraid.
