Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
It's on my to-read list, but I'm halfway through the Mortal Instruments series, they are good. Have you read them?
City of Bones. If you don't really like it, it's because the first two aren't as interesting as the next ones-at least that's what I've heard. The next book in the series is coming out soon!!!!!!!!! 'City of Lost souls!!!!' -Oh gosh, I'm totally off topic :)
AS much as i liked The Hunger Games, i loved Harry Potter and definitely plan on reading them again.Part of it may be because for a few years that is what i read to my kids at bedtime. It was the first time my daughter was so excited about reading that she asked if she could read ahead by herself.
I enjoyed The Hunger Games, but it was not nearly as well-written and enjoyable as Harry Potter.
I enjoyed the Harry Potter books and movies and have read the Hunger games and enjoyed them for different reasons. I think the age of the reader is important and do not think the Hunger Games really appropriate for the younger readers. Twilight - well, I Hated the books - very boring but I did enjoy the movies. The special effects were good.
Hmmm... tough one. I have to agree with Diana, I enjoyed them for different reasons, so apples and oranges. I also didn't like the Twilight books but agree the movies were watch-able.
I am not sorry to say it but I am a true Potterhead forever. I do enjoy the Hunger Games but like Twilight, they are just a fad that is very cool and awesome now, but later on, People aren't gonna care much. Also unlike Twilight which I have read, I do enjoy the hunger games better, so I am also a fan of the Hunger Games. ♥.
They're uncomparable. I grew up on HP. It borders on classic level. Hunger Games is immensely popular, but I don't think it can quite appeal to the scope of an audience that Harry Potter can. Quite honestly (and no offense intended), I despise these questions. Choosing one great series over another? Can't I just like them both? They're both great in their own ways and have the notoriety to go with them.
Harry Potter! 4ever!I adore the hunger games, but Harry Potter has something no other series has: a magic of his own.

I was just interested in people's opinion. ;)
Since I have not read The Hunger Games yet, and the movie was not the best of times...I'll stick to HP books and movies.
IMO they are too different to compare. The Hunger Games is probably best compared to Divergent (which I hope to start soon!).If I did have to pick one, it would be Harry Potter hands down.
I actually cared when characters died in HP. I can't say the same thing when someone died in The Hunger Games...Of course I'll have to wait until I get Catching Fire & Mockingjay in the mail and complete the entire series to be fair.
I don't think any young adult novel(s) that's been released so far can come close to Harry Potter. Hunger Games is superbly written (which makes the comparisons to Twilight painful to endure) and deals with a lot of meaningful themes, but it lacks the sheer depth of Harry Potter.
I haven't read hunger games yet. I need to add it to my must read list. Harry potter is just great. The way j.k Rowling writes makes it easy for you to become immersed in the story.
loads of people know the hunger games and they are awesome but harry potter is better. i mean who doesn't know him?

No teams for me! I like Ravenclaw best, though, and I don't really like Gale or Peeta!

I'm so glad it isn't between Harry Potter and Twilight anymore!! At least the Hunger Games are somewhat better than Twilight but both made horrible movies (in my opinion). My favourite will always be Harry Potter :) I am forever a Potterfan.
You didn't like the Hunger Games movie, either?! Yes!!!!! So I'm not the only one!!!!!

You almost took the words out of my mouth!
Hunger Games is good, but it can't really compare to Harry Potter.
I was slightly disappointed with Catching Fire, whereas it's really hard to put a Harry Potter book/series down once you've started.
The Hunger Games move was also a slight disappointment for me. Wasn't like I imagined it to be and I don't think Josh Hutcherson did Peeta well. He would have probably made a better Finnik?
I like them both, but you can't compare them cause they're both different genres. It's like comparing a car to a motorcycle! I like them both in different ways, but they almost send the same message. The hunger game's message is about breaking free and stuff while HP's message is fighting for the people. You'll understand if you REALLY think about it. I like them both in different ways and they're AWESOME!
It's hard to choose one series as they are different genres. But so far I am on book 3 of Harry Potter and can say-already-that I will like it more than the Hunger Games. Also, has anyone here read the Divergent series, they, I think, are better than the Hunger Games series. You should read them. It's a trilogy but the third is yet to be released. willysbookreviews.blogspot.com
Harry Potter all the way, the characters in the Hunger Games series just don't have enough depth or development. And Peeta and Gale just irritate me.

Hmm I don't know, I think it's how much they both adore Katniss even though, if I were a boy, I would not find her in the least attractive. Well, maybe her love for her family, but I just don't think she's a great enough person to attract such complete devotion from two different boys.
