I just finished the Realistic Fiction book Tex by S.E. Hinton. The main characters are Texas (Tex) and his brother Mason (Mace). The book is about the struggles Tex has at home and how his brother Mason has to take care of them while their dad is out competing in a rodeo. Of course incidents happened during the book. Especially two events that could probably leave you at the edge of your seat. There is even a secret that you don't expect. It is a secret that Tex never knew but Mason never told him.
I really liked the book because even though it was short still it was compact with events that made me to keep on reading. Even details that are all in there. I would recommend anyone that likes The Outsiders to read this book. It doesn't have any gangs in it bit still it is just that good. This book doesn't compare to S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders. Not that the book isn't excellent, it is but the way S.E. Hinton writes, there is no difference. She writes with full detail, describes the characters well, the setting is clear, and the plot is very exciting. She always leaves with some kind of surprise at the end.

I just finsihed reading the realistic fiction book "Mackenzie Blue:The Secret Crush" by Tina Wells. In this book the protagonist is Mackenzie Blue and the antagonist is Kathi (of course). In this book Mackenzie or Zee is trying to get the attention of her secret crush Landon the hottest boy in school. All ends up going well except for when people start meddling and making your business their business. I really enjoyed this book because it was about issues that center all around middle school. It talked about having crushes and getting them to know that you exist in the world too. It also talked about the troubles that tween girls are going through as well; such as making friends, deciding which friends are actually your real friends, and making sure that your friends stay your friends and don't start having feelings of their own. I did make a personal connection to this book because the story was all about how a middle school girl thinks and reacts to every little thing. While Zee talks it a bit over the top you get to see how things from all around you can come crumbling down and fast too. This book basically describes the life of a middle school girl and the troubles a tween girl has to face with being not totally out of the kid phase but also not being in the adult phase either.
I finished Cut by Patrica McCormick. It was about a girl named Callie who cuts herself and has to go to a place called Sea Pines but everyone calls it Sick Minds. There she tries to get help, but she won't speak to anyone and stays silent. Her roommate Sydney called her S.T because she gave everybody the silent treatment. The genre was realistic fiction. The protagonist was Callie and the antagonist was the therapist. The setting was the retreatment center, Sea Pines. The primary conflict was that Callie cut herself, and she would not speak to anyone to get the help that she needed.I liked this book because I found the main character very interesting and the problems in the book were very different than the conflicts in other books. I also enjoyed wondering what was going to happen to Callie in the end. Advice I would give to the author is expand a little more on the ending so I know more about what happened to Callie in the end, because the ending was not that long. It was just that Callie ran away from Sea Pines and then went back because she realized she needed help. I think the author should have wrote more about what happened to her and if she got help. This book is different than other books that are realistic fiction because not many realistic fiction books have problems like this.
The book i finished was "Caching Fire", book 2 of the hunger games, written by Suzanne Collins. In the book Katniss has just won the hunger games with Peeta. She and Peeta still need to act like they love each other just to go with what the crowd wants. Then Katniss is informed that there is going to be the big hunger games with the winners of the past games competing and there can only be one winner this time. When the names are called out Katniss was picked and Haymich. But before Haymich walks up Peeta says he if switch with Haymich and enter the big games. In the games Kantniss teams up with Petta, Beetee, Johanna and Wiress. Then when Katniss is unconscious when she wakes up she finds herself in a plane with Haymich and her teammates exempt for Peeta. Peeta was taken by the capitol and that isn't good. At the end Katniss realizes she is the Mockingjay. Overall i thought this was an ok book i thought it had action in it which i found good but the story and the rest of the book was overall bad. I would not recommend this book to people because it is confusing and a weird not so great book.If i were going to give advice to the author my advice would be to not make Katniss go to the hunger games again right after she won before i thinks it pointless.Overall i did not like this book.
I have read a Series Of Unfortunate Events, The Carnivorous Carnival. It is so good. It makes me want to read more. I stayed up all last night reading it. The Baudelaires, the protagonists, found out the secret they have been looking for, the secret of V.F.D. I cant say it because that would ruin it but I got very disappointed. I thought it would be more mysterious! Also I wonder if Olivia just made it up that one of the Baudelaires parents are still alive. (They died in a mysterious fire).I enjoyed this book. It makes me want to read more and I stayed up all last night reading it. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a short book, with all components for a great read: comedy, mysterious death, bonding, and action packed thrills. I think the best part of the book is the witty comedy that can make anyone, no matter who you, are laugh. There is one time when he is talking about De Ja Vu and he explains what it means then he started the same chapter over again and said the exact same thing! That is just a glimpse of how funny it is! It's almost as funny as me!
I read the Inventor's Times Real-Life Stories of 30 Amazing Creations by Dan Driscoll and James Zigarell. In the by the authors go through history showing and explaining the various technological and scientific achievements.Such as bubble gum, the slinky and X-rays.I enjoyed this book because it was very exiting to learn about the devices my ancestors used.It was also very cool to see the way that they were made. And sometimes they were made by accident like the Super Soaker. I highly recommend this book.
I just finished the book "James and the Giant Peach" by Roald Dahl. In this book the main character James starts of with a perfect life living in a house with his parents next to the ocean. Until James's parents got eaten by an angry rhinoceros that escaped from the zoo. Then James needed to live with his two aunts who were the curliest people in the whorl they made him work hard and they beat him as if he was a slave. One time when James's aunts said they were going to beat him to death he ran into the wood very far until he was so tired he needed to stop and rest. Out of nowhere an old man pops up out of the bushes and gives james a bag full on dragon teeth and says if james drinks them with a jug of water his life will be the best he could ever imagine. When james was on his way home to drink the seeds he tripped and the seeds fell out and if he lost any seed the best life with water thing would not work anymore. But James lost some and got very, very sad. The next morning his aunts saw a peach on their tree and the tree has never grown a peach before. And then the peach would start to grow right in front of their eyes. Then James goes inside the peach and he meets human size bugs which eventually become his friends. The spider cuts the last branch holding the peach and the peach rolls away into the ocean. Then while the peach is in the ocean a shark comes so the spider makes web and attaches it to seagulls and the peach fly away from the shark. while floating a boat passes by and picks up the peach and everyone inside. Then everybody is brought to New York City to live there. James finally ends up living inside the peach in central park and lives a happy life.I thought this was a very good book because it has a really nice story and just a good book in general. I would recommend this book to everybody it is just a great and fun story to listen to or read. Even though i love action and fighting i really enjoyed this book. If i were to give advice to the author i would say write a number two. This book is just like all the other books by Roald Dalh they all have great stories and have good messages. Overall i thought this was a extremely good book.
I have just read the realistic friction book, Rumble Fish by S.E. Hinton. Rusty James is the main protagonist of the book. Rusty James is only fourteen years old and is in a gang. His idol/brother is the motorcycle boy and the main antagonist is Biff Wilcox since he is Rusty James's arch enemy and even tries to kill him in the beginning of the story. The setting is Tulsa, Oklahoma where the best thing the kids can think of doing is drinking and playing pool.I like The Outsiders more but this is a really good, quick and easy book to read. I would recommend this book to anyone that liked the Outsiders because they are very similar in the sense that they are both about teenage gangs. I did not like the movie because Francis Ford Coppola decided to direct it in black and white and that confused me. Why would he do that?
I have just finished reading "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. Instead of one entire country there are districts. There used to be thirteen districts, but district thirteen blew up and is now destroyed. So for now there are twelve districts. The capitol controls all the districts. Every year the capitol does an event called The Hunger Games. Two people from every district will get together to fight for their life. The winner keeps their life and become rich while the losers lose their life. The protagonist, Katniss Everdeen has sacrifice her life to save her little sister Prim. Katniss and her family are in district twelve. Prim is about nine years old I think and Katniss is seventeen years old. Her father is a miner who died during an explosion. After her father's death her mother turned into a different person. She is not active. Instead of Katniss's mother taking care of the family Katniss is. Everyday she goes hunt for animals and later trade it for food or something else. This is the best book I have ever read! This book is different from any other books I have read or wrote a review on. The story is incredible. I recommend this book to everybody. Read the book first than watch the movie because the movie skips some important parts.
I have just finish reading "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" by Suzanne Collins. Katniss Everdeen (protagonist) is alive and enjoying her life with a couple of lies. Such as Gale one of her friends is now her cousin. Katniss is pretending that Peeta is her boyfriend and that they'll soon get married. Ever since the 74th annual Hunger Games Katniss have cause a lot of trouble because Peeta and Katniss was about to commit suicide by eating some poisonous berries. President Snow is trying to get rid of Katniss because she caused an uprising.I really like this book, but I'm not sure if it's better than the first one. The story still continues from the first one. Suzzane had just made the story more interesting. I recommend this book to everybody who hasn't read the series. This book is amazing.
I have currently finished the realistic fiction book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. The story starts off with the protagonist, Brian, who is sent on an airplane to spend the summer with his father in Canada. This is the first year of his parent's divorce, and he finds it difficult for himself to fit in with the alteration. As he boards the airplane, he meets the pilot of the plane. In a shocking outburst while flying in the air, the pilot suddenly dies of a heart attack and Brian must take control of the airplane. Using his prior knowledge, he crashes the plane into a lake inside a deserted forest in Canada where he happens to spend the rest of his summer struggling to survive. Here, he learns to find food, look at things critcally, and to be careful about how he lives his life. Brian, a stubborn city boy, changes into a brand new Brian after spending his summer stuck in a forest with no one to rescue him. He discovers things that he's never noticed before and he learns, from nature, not to take things for granted.
I actually loved this book. It was such a surprise to me because I usually HATE survival books like this. For example, I read My Side of The Mountain in fifth grade and it was one of the worst books I've ever read in my life. I just couldn't get absorbed. But for Hatchet, I thought it was so good and I got so absorbed in it!! I can relate to this kind of experience because I understand the importance of nature since I go to New Hampshire every summer for at least a month. It's so nice because I finally get to escape from the chaotic city world, although I love NYC. Sometimes, you need time away from the bustle of things and you need to experience the tranquil scenery of the forest. Hatchet by Gary Paulsen is an amazing book and I recommend it to everyone who knows what experience with nature is like!

I just read the Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry the main protagonist is The little prince who leave his own little planet looking for adventure. He travels from planet to planet meeting some absurd people. The last planet he visits is Earth. He runs into the other protagonist and the Narrator, and they spend nine days together in the middle of the desert. There is no antagonist. It is just a story of the little princes journey to Earth.I love this book and have loved it for a very long time. It is filled with many themes and childish stories that means so much more than what hits the eye. I can tell why it is a timeless classic known through out the world. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE. I know i say that a lot but this is just a wonderful book that anyone will find amusing and meaningful. I can't wait to watch the movie. I am pleased to know that Gene Wilder (a really good actor if you don't know him) is one of the main characters in the movie.
I finished the book "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins .In this book the main character Katniss is living in district 12 with her mother, little sister, and best friend. She was living a semi normal life until her little sister was picked for the hunger games. But Katniss said she would go instead of her sister. Katniss traveled to the capitol to train and get fans to donate things she needs while in the games. From Katniss's past experiences with the bow and arrow she surprised everybody at her amazing skill of being perfectly accurate every shot. Haymich is the person who trains Katniss and teaches her strategies and how to survive the hunger games. When Katniss arrives at the arena she runs to get a bow and arrow and runs to a safe spot. She made friends with a guy named peeta in the capitol and now Peeta is fighting with another group of people instead of with Katniss. After a long way of fighting Katniss and Peeta meet up. But in the hunger games there can only be one winner so Katniss and Peeta don't know what to do. But then a rule slides that there can be two winners so Katniss and Petta won the hunger games.Overall i thought this was a very good book. It had a lot of action, which i like, it also had a good story to it. I would recommend this book to anybody who is looking for a good book to read. I have no advice to give to the author i thought this was a good book the way it is.
I finished Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins last month but I didn't put in a book review until now. In the fictional masterpiece Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, Katnis, who is still the main protagonist, is living in her new found home in the victors village located in district twelve. Things take a turn for the worst when President Snow himself decides to take a visit to Katnis's house and give her some very bad news. It all goes down hill from there but I cant say it or it will ruin the whole story!
This is now one of my favorite books. I couldn't stop reading it. It is a mind twisting, action packed reading that made me start screaming a the book once it was over. It leaves you on such a huge cliff hanger that makes you die inside! I would recommend this book to someone who has already read the first book, otherwise the great twists and turns wont make any sense! The character development in this book is outstanding! Katnis goes from a girl who is responsible for feeding one family to all the families in the country of Panem depending on her to feed them.
I also finished a Few Good Men by Aaron Sorkin a while ago but I never put in a report. A Few Good Men is the first play I read and it has made me want to read more. It is about a trial in which two marines are charged with murder but other twists and turns happen that result in a mind bending play masterpiece.
I will start off by saying Aaron Sorkin is a master of righting any type of anything! I have seen every episode of the west wing and I have started to watch it again. This book is filled with twists, and turns and witty humor. I would not recommend this book to a lot of people. I can be very hard to follow. I had to read each page two times so that i could follow it. I would not change a thing about this book and I cant wait to see the movie.
Earlier in the year I read Time and Again by Jack Finny and I never added a review for it.This is about the invention of time travel. And one man named Simon is picked by the government to go back to the eighteen hundreds in New York. While he is there he falls in love with a women who convinces him to let her com with him back to his present and her future.
This is a very good book. It was very smart with all of the various theories of time travel and the effects of it. I would recommend this book to people who like science fiction. I really hope they turn it into a movie.
I just finished the book Dream Called Time by S.L. Viehl. It is about the main character named Cherijo, who walks up after being FIVE YEARS in a walking coma. While being unconscious events happens that changed and it changes Cherijos life. For example losing connection with her husband Duncan and 9 year old daughter Marel. What happens is that Cherijo has to find a cure from a substance called Black Crystal. While doing that some truth is revealed and it includes going back in time. The setting takes place in different worlds and inside space ships.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read Science Fiction because it is full of action and information that anyone who likes Science Fiction can get. Of course I can't make any personal connection not only because the predicament the character faces is not what I face. I do have have some questions for the author: How were you able to write such details in the book, for example when Cherijo does surgery how it is precise? Did a book inspire you to write Science Fiction? I think the most aspect of the book was the conflict because there are predicaments that Cherijo has to face and while she faces those situations that is when it gets intense.

I recently read Rumble Fish by S.E. Hinton. The book is about a boy named Rusty-James. Rusty is 14 but is super tough and scary. He loves to rumble but does get hurt pretty badly. He has a brother named the Motorcycle Boy who got his name from his love of motorcycles. Motorcycle Boy ran away to California in the beginning of the book to visit with their mother who ran away from Rusty-James, Motorcycle Boy and their father 12 years ago. The Motorcycle Boy is the coolest guy ever and Rusty-James wants to be just like him. Rusty-James doesn't take his life too seriously besides his girlfriend Patty, rumbling and his friend Steve. One day, all of the things in his life go wrong and it just happens to be the day the Motorcycle boy gets back from California. He gets kicked out of school, Patty leaves him and he gets beat up really badly. I'm not sure if I liked this book. It was alright but the Outsiders was so much better. During the course of the Outsiders, you saw so much character development but in this book, there wasn't much. If I could give any advice to Rusty-James, it would be to try to tell the Motorcycle Boy how you feel about him. Tell him that you look up to him and want to be just like him. I think it will help you to grow closer to him. If I had to choose a song to be on the soundtrack for this book, I would choose "Slow Down" by the Jam. I would choose this song because Rusty-James lives his life so fast and furiously that he never has time to appreciate it and this song would be the wake up call for him to slow down and enjoy and try to improve his life. Overall, it was an ok book. I didn't enjoy it that much. It's a quick, fun, easy read.
In the book i recently finished "Rumble Fish" written by S.E Hinton the main character Rusty-James looks up to his older brother Motercycle boy. In this book Rusty-James wants to get into fights and win them all so he can be like his brother, strong, respected, never scared and so on. But when Motercycle boy leaves to visit his mom Rusty-James gets into big trouble in his life. He gets expelled from school because they can't take all of the problems and bad things Rusty does such as skipping school, beating up kids, being disrespectful to everybody and a lot more. He also gets beaten up really badly and damaged his head and is perminatly damaged. I thought this book was ok because it did not really have a good story to it but it did have some action parts and fighting parts which i enjoyed. If i were to compare this book to the outsiders the Outsiders is so much better it is 100000% better than rumble fish. Outsiders had an amazing story while rumble fish didn't and they both had a little action. I would not recommend this book to a lot of people because it starts of slow, then a little better, then slow for the rest of the book. Overall this was a pretty boring book.
I just read the Gettysburg Address by Abraham Lincoln. This is published as a book. Lincoln says that all men are created equal and that we should all be treated fairly. He wrote this because African Americans were being kept as slaves and he thought that that was not right so he wrote the Gettysburg address.I liked this book very much because Abraham Lincoln was one of the few people that believed that all African Americans should be free. I think that this is a great thing to say and I also think that this changed many peoples opinions in that time as well. I would recommend the book to anybody who is racist to show them that they are wrong and that it is a good thing that all blacks should be free. I do have a question for Abraham Lincoln. I would want to ask him if he were still alive: What convinced him to not be racist because most people were racist slave owners. What made him change his mind about African Americans?
I read We Could Be Brothers by Derrick Barnes. It is about a boy named Robeson. He gets detention because he got into a little fight with a kid named Tariq. Tariq says that he is going to beat up Robeson. When Robeson is in detention he meets this tough guy named Pacino who also has problems with Tariq. They became friends and they both helped out each other.I kind of liked this book but it wasn't too much fun to read. The book had no real plot twist and it didn't show good writing but it was an alright story. I would recommend this book to anybody that likes stories about people helping and learning from different people. The advice I would give the author is to learn how to write better that might help him get noticed.
I have currently just finished reading the fantasy book "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by J.K. Rowling. This book is about a protagonist named Harry Potter who was sent to live with the only family he has eft, The Dursleys. The Dursleys treat Harry as though he were their slave; that is until one day Harry get's a letter addressed to him the boy living under the stair cupboard. In attempt to get away from all of the express mail delivered by owls uncle Vernon takes them all away to a little shack in the middle of the sea and the only way to get their and back is by boat. Harry get's a little visit by the one and only Hagrid to deliver Harry his letter; and little does he know Harry is actually a wizard!I really enjoyed this book! This book was interesting, suspenseful, and heart warming. This book really makes you treasure everything you have because there are others out there who don't have parents, money, or both. While most of us (mainly me) complain about not getting an iphone, Harry doesn't complain at all cause if he did he would be tossed into an orphanage or have all of his meals taken away for a week. *Interesting Question - Did you find any of this book confusing?* I found that reading bits and pieces of this book was a bit confusing. The reason why i found it confusing was because i have already seen the movie version of this book and so while i read this i was thinking "what?" and "where in the movie does this happen?". However; while this book was a bit confusing to read sometimes i think that it was a really cool book because now that if seen the movie and i realize that this book definitely deserved to be made into a movie.
I finished So Much Closer by Susane Colasanti. It was about a girl named Brooke who moved to New York City to follow a boy named Scott who she thought was her soulmate. She didn't really know anything about him, and he barley knew that Brooke existed but she still followed him to New York City thinking that once she moved there they would both get to know each other and fall in love. The genre is realistic fiction. The protagonist is Brooke and the antagonist is her mom because she always annoyed Brooke with her grades and that she disagreed with her to moving to New York. The setting is New York City. The primary conflict is once Brooke got to date Scott she didn't really like the relationship that they had between each other. She wanted someone who would really talk to her and listen to her, and Scott didn't give that to her he just wanted someone to hangout with.I liked this book because I enjoyed seeing what was going to happen between Scott and Brooke. I could relate to this book because the setting of New York City was relatable because I live there and Brooke would describe the setting and how she enjoyed living there. Advice I would give to the author is make it more realistic because I do not think anyone would move somewhere for a guy they didn't know because they thought they were there soulmate. A question I have is what happens to Brooke as her life goes on.
I have just read James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. It is about an orphan named James who lived with his two evil aunts. He was very sad with his life and had given up all hope of happiness when he runs into a man who gives him magical beans. James gets very excited and runs home. Unfortunately he trips on a plant and spills the beans all over the soil. He runs home crying and sad as could be. The next day he wakes up to find a huge peach where he had dropped the beans in the soil and his adventure starts from there. This is such a wonderful story. Roald Dahl is the only person who could have wrote such a remarkably funny and interesting story as this. If you have not already read this book, you have missed out on your childhood, so read it now. The best part of the text was the imagination.
The book i read "Monstrumologist" by Rick Yancy a terrible monster has been traveling around Europe and has made its way to America. Dr.Warthrop and his assistant Will Henry are on a mission to hunt down and kill this monster before it spreads or they spread. The monster only feeds on humans. Dr.Warhrop and Will build up a team and go down into the basement of the house with the monsters in it. While on their mission many people died and got eaten. Finally Dr.Warthrop and Will are the only survivors left and they have to kill the monsters. So they both run into sight and fight the monsters of using weapons.Overall i thought this was a pretty good book. It had everything i like Action, Horror, and even a little adventure. I would only recommend this book to people who enjoy action and fighting. I would not recommend this book to people who get grossed out at blood and guts and things like that.If i were to give advice to the author i would say to start of the beginning a lot more exciting because the beginning starts of really slow and boring.
In the book i read called "Among the Hidden" written by Margaret Peterson Haddix the main character Luke is different from all the other kids. He is a third child. In the book people are not allowed to have a third child and if they do they need to keep them hidden so nobody could see them. Luke is not allowed to go to school or even have any friends. One day while Luke's parents aren't home he goes over to the house across the street because he sees a little girl his age from his window. He goes over and she talks to him about how she is a third child just like him. Then she reads about how there is going to be a protest against being able to have a third child. Jen, the other third child, wants to make a plan to meet up with all the other third children and protest together. This very dangerous so Luke says he dosn't want to participate. So Jen actually leaves home to protest. Then when Luke goes to her house after she left he meets Jen's father who is actually a police officer specialized on finding third children. But he is one who doen't really believe that this law is correct to he helps the third children he sees secretly. Sadly Jen's father finds out that Jen died at the protest just like everybody else.I thought that this was a really good book because it has a good message. I would recommend this book to everybody it is a great fun easy read for people. I would give no advice to the author but advice for the readers is even if the beginning seems boring just don't put the book down keep reading.
I have just read A Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe. This short story is a story of a man who is in denial about being crazy. The man has plotted to kill a man in his sleep because he has a vulture like eye and it makes him crazy (he does not know that last part, since he is in denial about being crazy. But you can tell thats the reason he is killing the man). I like this book. It is a classic thriller written by Edgar Allen Poe who is known for his classic dark and sometimes scary stories. When reading it you feel like you are in a nightmare and it left me wanting more I would recommend this short story to anyone who aprecciates a thriller as good as this one. I think the best part of the story is detail.
I finished Breathless by Lurlene McDaniel. It was about a boy named Travis who's favorite thing to do was go diving and one day when he was diving he was in a lot of pain, so he went to the hospital and ended up having bone cancer. After that Travis was so upset and in so much pain and became very depressed. He wanted to kill himself in the lake so he didn't have to die in a hospital with all these drugs and in pain, he wanted to die in a place he loved. The genre was realistic fiction. The protagonist was Travis and the antagonist was his mom because she didn't let him die in the lake she made him go to the hospital and try to still live, but he died in pain. The setting was where Travis and his family lived. The primary conflict was that Travis had bone cancer and was in so much pain.I disliked this book because I thought the ending was very upsetting. I expected Travis to get better and survive. I couldn't make any personal connections because I have never had cancer before so I couldn't connect to what Travis was feeling. I think the most aspect of the text was conflict because the whole book was about Travis and the pain he was going through and how he was depressed about having bone cancer.
In the book i finished "Stormbreaker" written by Anthony Horowitz the main character, Alex Rider, lives with his uncle having a normal life. Until one day Police appear at Alex's house and tell him his uncle was killed in a car crash. But when Alex goes to the car the car is still in perfect shape with only a couple of small screeches on the side. Alex then realizes that his uncle was not in a car crash somebody killed him. Alex finds out that his uncle was on a secret mission and was not actually a banker. So Alex gets recruited for the MI6 in replacement of his uncle. His mission was to confirm that there is nothing mysterious going on with the new technology, the storm breaker. While on the mission he finds out who kills his uncle and also that the storm breaker computers contain poisonous gasses that can be released and wipe out the whole world. While on this mission he disguises himself as a different person to spy on the creator of the storm breakers. When his true identity get revealed he finds him see in great danger. In the end just before the mayor opens up all the storm breakers, which contain the poison gas, Alex shoots his hand and the creator of he storm breaker runs away. Overall i thought this was a very book. It has a lot of action which i like and also a thrilling story. I would recommend this book to people who are looking for a thrilling story to read. I would give no advice to the author because i thought the book was good the way it is.
In the book i have read "Hatchet"written by Gary Paulsen the main character Brian is on a small plane flying to visit his father and the pilot has a heart attack. The plane crashes in the middle of nowhere and all Brian has is his Hatchet and a surveil pack. Brian looks for some food so the first berries he finds make him very very sick. After he build himself a shelter. A lot of bad things happen to him through out the book such as skunks spray him, porcupine spikes him, and he gets sick. But one day a plane flies overhead but does not stop because it doesn't see him. But then a few days later a plane comes and stops. Luckily Brian is saved and still alive. I thought this was an amazing book about survival and having a great story. I would recommend this book to everybody. I would not give any advice to the author.
I just finished the book The Pigman by Paul Zindel. The book is about two teenagers named John and Lorraine. They are hanging out one night and they decide to make some prank calls. Lorraine looks in the phone book and calls the first number she sees, Angelo Pignati. She calls him up saying she works for a charity and asks if he would be so kind as to make a donation. Pignati says yes and tells Lorraine about his wife who's "out visiting his sister in California." They talk some more and then Mr. Pignati asks her to come by his house tomorrow afternoon to pick up the donation and then they could go to the zoo to see his best friend Bobo the baboon. Her and John happily oblige because they'll do anything to get out if school. Pignati's a big, potbellied happy man in his mid to late fifties. He is happy all of the time. There are many odd things about the Pigman: his best friend is a baboon, and him and his wife have a collection of hundreds of toy pigs, one that looks just like the Pigman. That's all I want to say because it is such a great, eventful book.I really enjoyed The Pigman. The book has all of the great aspects of a perfect book: mystery, romance, comedy, and action. It was really entertaining and one of the best books I've read in a while. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes realistic fiction because it is a great realistic fiction story. I think that the most interesting aspect of the text would have to be character development. I think it was the most interesting because the characters all developed so much throughout the text. The Pigman developed by being more honest, Lorraine became more outgoing and carefree and John embraced a part of him self he didn't before. This book was awesome and I recommend it to anyone.
I have just read The Speckled Band, which is a Sherlock Holmes mystery by Sir Aurther Conan Doyle. This is a murder mystery about a girl that died while her las words were speckled band. They later find out in the story that a man named Dr. Roylott who was her step-father committed the crime with a snake that the girl refered to as speckled band. This was ok. It was a little hard to follow but over all it was good. I reccomend this book to anyone who has already read a Sherlock Holmes book before. The best part of the book is Sir Aurther Conan Doyle's attension to detail.
I have just read "Tuck Everlasting" by Natalie Babbit. This is about a girl named Winnie, whose life is so boring since she is locked up on her parents estate night and day. One day she is so angry that she runs away from her house, into the woods. In the woods she sees a boy drinking from a spring. She later found out that this spring, has caused immortality for not only this boy ( who turns out to be about eighty), but also his whole family.I really like this book, which is exciting, thrilling and has a sad ending, which I always like. I recommend this book to people who can handle getting really close to characters (SPOILER ALERT) but lose them later in the book. The best part of the book is the sense of family.
I have finished the book "Eona," by Alison Goodman. This book is about a girl who dresses up to be a boy to become the next Dragoneye. This is a continuation of Eon, and right now the revolution has begun. Eona goes through many parts of the realm in order to find an army to help her and the prince. But with the prince's uncle hot on their trail its only matter of time until they get caught. So, Eona goes in search of Lord Edo, the Rat dragoneye, in order for him to train her. Plus he is more violent then her so he is able to be of great use for the prince. When they go for Lord Ido, the new king has him imprisoned and all hell brakes out in order to free him. Once they free him, trains Eona into fighting the new king. That is when the final battle begins. The series was okay, only I kind of got bored while reading this book. It didn't have much that kept me saying, "WOW!" Instead it kept me saying "Yea i saw that coming," what the author needs is something that will catch the readers eyes, and maybe add a few more good scenes. Because all I saw was an explanation to the past and not whats happening now. The author mainly focuses on the past and always forgets to develop Eona.
I have finished the book "The Dealer," by Robert Muchamore. This is the second book in the Cherub series, and is about a drug dealing that occurs in a town of England. James, the main character, goes with the help of 3 of his cherub friends Kerry, Bruce, and Nicole. James operation is t befriend the son of a drug dealer and get in real close with him so that way he can be able to stop the drug dealing business that is taking place. James ends up to befriend the kid and also gets in so good with the kid, that the drug dealer actually hires James to sell some of the dope tat he sells. James ends up succeeding in the operation, but one of the operatives ends up getting kicked out of CherubThe series is definitively a good one. It has all that I love, plain old action. It shows and paints a vivid image of how spies are supposed to act and what they do. It is also quite accurate to what they do considering that most spy techniques are top secret. The author also uses his writing skills to describe in detail of the scenery that James is located in. plus you see James character develop from a trouble making kid. To a a top ranking undercover spy who puts priorities over what he desires. But he always remembers what is more important then the mission.
I have read the book "Maximum Security," by by Robert Muchamore. This is the third book in the Cherub series, and is abut a "jail break." James, needs to go on another mission, but this time things get tricky. His operation is about a weapons dealer who has been tracked by the U.S FBI for over 20 years. The dealer's son however, is in a prison in Arizona. Jame's mission is to go to the prison and pretend that he is a prisoner and hope to befriend the weapons dealer's son. But, is not going to be as easy as the last mission. James needs to go through the ranks of the prisoners and hope that none of them kill him. The good news is, is that he goes in with an experienced Cherub member who has a great rap in the Cherub business. But, things go for the worst and Dave( Jame's helper) gets tazed by the guards so that he needs to be pulled out of the mission. Thankfully James makes a deal with one of the toughest prisoners their and they kind of become his body guards. He ends up befriending the dealer's son, and then the hard part comes.... escaping from the prison. This book was by far the best one in the series. This one was pure genius on the escape plan and the entering of the prison. The book displays action of high level, and a vivid image of the sorrow that the prison gives to its prisoners. Its kind of how Steve from "Monster" describes prison. People suffering with what they did, trying to prove to themselves that they did nothing, and the sweat and tears that are stuck to the walls of the prison.
I have read the book, " The Alchymst," by Michael Scott. This is the first book in the Nicholas Flamel series. The two main characters are Sophie and Josh. The story starts out with these twins working in what seems like a normal book store and coffee shop. But, then the book store owner, Mr.Flamel, starts fighting a short man with men made of dry rock. Josh is obviously in shock when he sees this. Mr. Flamel uses this sort of electrical current that is able to send the golems crashing into the coffee shop next door. This is where Sophie is working. Mrs. Flamel, rushes to the book store and ends up destroying the golems, but gets captured by the short man. Mr. Flamel reveals to the 2 teens that that short man was called Dr.Dee. Their lives are changed forever ever since they saw what Mr. Flamel use. They end up going to a goddess by the name of Scathach, a legendary Irish goddess who has trained warriors from the past. They travel tom a different goddess, who unlocks the twins auras. The twins end up to be the children of prophecy, but Dr.Dee ends up attacking the Tree of Life with the help of the crow goddess, Morgan, and the Egyptian goddess, Bastet. This book is also another good book, and portrays the mixture of different myths and legend coming together in one big epic battle. It shows which myth is the best whether it be Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Medieval, or Irish. This book truly shows a vibrant display of character development mystery, and cause that makes me want to read more of the series.
I have read the book, "The Killing," by Robert Muchamore. The book is the fourth book in the Cherub series. It is about how a normal mission ends up to be a mysterious death of a young man. James is set out back to his home of England, but his mission is to find out something strange about a car dealer who has been reported stealing millions of pounds. James goes with Dave again and ends up finding something else that is much more than the care dealer. He finds out that the death of a high 17 year old teen may not have been an accident at all. He goes in with Dave and gains the trust of the neighboring kids, but soon he needs the help of some other Cherub friends. Kerry and his little sister go in, to help him. Plus he gets more information on the death of the boy, when he finds and dates the cousin of the man who died. She tells him everything he needs to know about his death, and a bit more on the car dealer. This book was not the best in the Cherub series, but a good one non the less. It describes the characters and you can really see James growing and developing. Unlike other stories that don't have character develop, you can see Jame's character develop quite well. He is learning to think firs and the react later.
I have read the book "Lockdown," by Alexander Gordon Smith. It is the first in the Escape from Furnace series and is a very thrilling thriller. This book is about an ultimate prison that is kept underground and away from the world.Only the worst of the worst are kept their and the guards are not really what we call human. They hold demon dogs who jump incredibly high and guards who look exactly the same and can clone themselves. Then of course is the mistreatment of the prisoners their and the framing of some of the prisoners. Alex was framed. He used to steal sure, but he never killed nor did he deserve to get locked up in there. He was framed for killing his best friend, Toby, these men dressed in gray came to him when he was about to rob a house and kill Toby. The cops start chasing Alex and then put him in Furnace for killing someone. He does not get trailed since minors are not trialed after the summer of death. He is locked up in their with a sell mate who is quite nice to him and knows how to survive well in the prison. He meets other people but he notices that Furnace is not like other prisons, this prison is hell. This book is incredible. Probably the best horror book I have ever read. So great in detail, I can actually feel the burning heat of the prison, the anxiety attacks of the prisoners, waiting to be next in death's line. I smell the stench of the cafeteria, and taste the gruel that is served there. The character definitively develops his own way to survive and his own way of thinking. He is genius person to come up with escape and t never give up hope no matter how futile it may seem.
I have read, "The Fire," by James Patterson. This is the first book in the Witch and Wizard series. The main character are Whit and Wisty. They are accused and arrested for being a witch and a wizard. The new government that has been established stated that their should be no creativity, no thoughtfulness and no children. They are taken away from their parents and are arrested and put into jail. but their, Celia, Wits long lost girl friend saves them and teaches them a bit of the new world they live in. They are taken to the resistance where they go on missions and the fight for the world begins. The book was okay, but not the best I've read, I mean there was not much plot to this and I always got confused when i was reading the book. Sometimes i had to look back as much as 6 chapters back in order to understand what was happening. Plus the author could be more straight forward when describing things. I couldn't half the time understand what he was talking about. My hints to him are keep on trying and be a little more descriptive.
I read the book the Hunger Games by Suzane Collins. The genre is realistic fiction. The protagonist, Katniss Everdeen, volunteers to participate in The Hunger Games, which is basically a televised contest where people fight to the death in a huge arena. The antagonist is the other people competing against Katniss. Two people fight in the Hunger Games to represent their district, and there are 13 districts. I loved this book. It was very discriptive and interesting. Even though I can't relate to the exact situation, I can relate to being strong and brave.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes stories of warriors and action but also romance. This was one of my favorite books honestly. It was better than others that were the same genre mostly because it was more descriptive and detailed than other books. It really pulled me in and kept me interested from page 1 to the end.
In the book i recently finished "Persepolis" by Marjane Satrapi the main character Marjane is living in Iraq during the time period when people where fighting against whether the Shah or the Religious leader should lead Iran. Marjane likes the king and she thinks that he was chosen by god because thats what her school told her. During protests people die, get hurt, and many are sent to jail. Just like most of Marjane's family members were sent to jail for speaking their mind and their thoughts. While all of this is happening the war between Iraq and Iran began. Finally the Shah steps down and the religious leader steps up. The people who thought that he was going to be better were wrong. He made the girls where their veil and need to follow many other rules. Marjane does not like this and she wishes that the people would have just left the Shah as leader. When Marjanes parents go on vacation she asks them for the things she really likes such as Nike shoes. leather jacket and rock band posters. On the first day wearing her new clothes the relies leaders helpers tell her she's it wearing cloths she is not allowed to wear so she could be sent to jail. So she runs home and cries. At the end of the book Marjane's neighbors house get blown up by an aircraft. So Marjane's parents say it is to dangerous so they sent her on to live in Austria with her grandparents. I thought this was a very good book because i learned a lot about a country i don't really have a lot of knowledge about. I would recommend this book to anybody who is looking for a book. The part i found most interesting was how Marjane was not allowed to wear what she wanted because of how strict the religious leader is.
I just finished the book Earlier Poems by Franz Wright. These poems reflect almost experiences and emotions that probably how the poet felt. Deep dark descriptive language that you can't really imagine. You may think you know what dark poetry is but this poet's poetry is nothing you ever read or wrote. It might get you think of what was the point of the poem. In the book the poems are split into part and each part has a title and a year which probably showed the year the poet wrote the poems. Every poems is different in it's own dark and deep way. It may get you to even wonder what was this poet thinking.
I just liked the book, not amazing but liked it because it was different. It is not those happy poems, it is really deep. Not simple to figure out what the meaning of the poems. I would recommend this text to anyone who is interested in reading poetry and those who like dark stories then this is your book. I can't make any connections to the poems, of course at times I do feel down in the dumps but not like the way these poems describe. These poems make it seem like someone is probably in some deep depression and it can't get out out of that emotion of darkness. There is no light, just gloomy. Of course I'm not gloomy all the time but for anyone who faced a distressing time can probably make a personal connection. Even those who had sad memories in their past could also make personal connections.

I have just read The Love Letter by Jack Finney. This is about a man named Jake Belknap, who has just bought a new desk, not thinking what could be in it. When he bought it, he had about a minute to study it and he found an unopened, unsent letter from May 14, 1882. When he opened it, it was a love letter from a woman named Helen. Later, he somehow sends a letter back to her. This goes on, two more times (he gets another letter from her). Then, he falls in love with her. The last letter he gets from her, is actually a picture of her stating that she died in 1934.I liked this story. I pretty much like all Jack Finney stories that involve some sort of time travel because, he knows what he is talking about. I would recommend this book to people who understand time the way Jack Finney does, otherwise his stories are hard to understand. The best part of the book in my opinion is the idea that two people from completely different times can fall in love.
I have just finished the book "kira-kira". This book is really really sad. Katie and Lynn are sisters/best friends. They do everything together an tell each other everything too. Lynn later meets a girl, Amber, that wants to be her friend. Lynn is really happy she tries hard to fit in with the rest of the group so she stops hanging around with Katie. I really enjoyed this book because there were a lot of situations in the book that I could relate to. Also, the book was well written. A personal connection that I made with the book is that I had a close friend with also decided to hang out with the popular kids to fit in and had to separate from me. Like Amber and Lynn, Lynn decided not the hang out wit Amber anymore because of all the attention she got from hanging out with a different group. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone at any age.
I have just finished reading the book "Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry" by Mildred D. Taylor. In the book the main character, Cassie, was greeted at home with a surprise. Her dad came home for the first time in a long time with someone named Mr. Morrison. Cassie's father said that Mr. Morrison is going to work for the Logans (Cassie's family.) This book was an okay book. I think it is really interesting and the timeline of this book took place back in the day where the blacks were discriminated. One thing that I think this book could have done better in was how fast or slow events were. For example, an unimportant event could last up to 10 page and you would get nothing out of it. That was really frustrating. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about the discrimination of people.
I recently finished Rumble Fish by S.E. Hinton. It is about a Rusty-James who lives in the rough side of town and events change his life. He is not really a bad guy but uses his fists to solve his problems instead of using his head. He is not by himself. he needs to have someone to lean on which is his Brother Motorcycle Boy whom he wants to be like. He has a father who is a drunk and doesn't have much conversation with. Of course he has some friends at his side but you cannot really say the closest. The only person Rusty James likes to be with is Motorcycle Boy.
I just liked the book. It wasn't as amazing as The Outsiders that was deep and riveting. This is quick and not much to get excited for as I thought. The advice I would give to Rusty-James to have friends that you find close to. Of course you had Steve but you say why you ever let him join the gang. In addition don't waste you life away do something meaningful and then you would enjoy life much more. The main aspect of the text was Rusty-Jame changing. He was reflecting back to events that changed his life but it is not so noticeable, only in the beginning and the end it is probably recognizable.

I have finished the book "Among The Free" by Margaret Haddix. Among The Free is the seventh book of the Shadow Children. This book is about a time and place where having a 3rd child is illegal. If you had a third child, the population police will take them away. The population police are people who barge into to people's houses and try to find the third child. Luke (the main character who is a 3rd child) has had two fake identities and has no idea who to trust until he met Jen.I really really enjoyed this book. When I was in 5th grade, my teacher read the first book in the series to us and I loved it. One strong character in this book is a girl named Jen, who knew that taking away 3rd children was bad and wanted to stop it. Unfortunately Jen died at a rally against the population police. Even though Jen is gone that doesn't mean people aren't still influenced by her. For example, when the general told Luke to shoot an innocent person, he refused. I would recommend this book to anyone and this book made me cry for Luke and Jen.
I finished the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This is the first book of the series. This book is about Katniss Everdeen, a 16 year old girl who volunteered as tribute in the Hunger Games in place of her younger sister, Prim. Two tributes are chosen in each districts. There are 12 districts. The tributes are placed in a arena and forced to kill one another in other to survive and win. Peeta Mallark is also a chosen tribute in the same district. I not going to give anything else away, but I'm pretty sure everyone has already read the book before. I loved this book so much and it is packed with action. I love this book so much that I read the second the third book of the series too. All I have to say is that I SHIP KATNISS AND PEETA SO MUCH IT HURTS INSIDE!!! I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read action or just wants to read an amazing book.
