I just finished this book today. I found it very interesting, especially in regards to the Trail of Tears. I learned a lot I had never known, like how many Cherokee took their slaves with them on the trail. It was something I just hadn't thought of before. http://inamerica.blogs.cnn.com/2012/0... This was an interesting article I found that said more about that.
I liked the characters in the book. Eliza and Temple were both very strong women who weren't afraid of hard work. They held their family together even when it was difficult. They stood up to their men when they needed to. The romance was nicely done, if a bit cheesy sometimes.
I did feel the book was lacking in character development, especially in regards to Kipp and Victoria and other side characters. They could be very one-dimensional. Other than that I thought it was a very good book and I thank April for recommending it! I hope to hear what everyone thinks of it!

I will leave a comment when I finish it for the second time been a while since I read it the frist time.
Just finished reading this book for the second time, I almost never read a book more than once. Reasons why I really like this book 1. I consider myself a history buff, so I truly enjoyed learning a part of native american history I did not know about. 2. I loved the potral of two strong women, Temple and Eliz. 3. Lastly, because this isa romance novel I like the fact that there were multipal love stories, Temple and The Blade, Pheobe and Due and Eliza and Will.
I liked the intersection of all the love stories as well April. I liked following all the couples. I almost think Pheobe and Deu were my favorite but all of them were great!
