Iris walks in and sees Amy's drawing and smiles in envy."I wish I could draw that well. I've never been much good at it." Iris says to her, sitting down next to her.
Annie walked in, beaming. She wasn't sure why she was so happy, but she had a great dealing about today. "Has class started yet?" she asked. Then, realizing that it obviously hadn't, seeing as thee were so few people in the room, she decided to make it a little less awkward by introducing herself. "Hi, I'm annie," she said. "I'm in my first year, in Hufflepuff, and I have one older sister."
"Ooh! Does being in Ravenclaw mean you're a geek? Cause that's what my sister said.". ((please excuse her behavior, she's really curious and rather out spoken. Her sister is a Slytherin- go figure!))
Emma slipped into class several minutes late. Glancing around, she realized that only two other people had shown up and the Professor had yet to make an appearance. She sat down behind Gwen. "Hey, Gwen," she said, before turning to the new girl. "I'm Emma," she said, extending her hand.
((I'm assuming its Annie, right?))"Hi Emma! I'm Annie! You're pretty," she said shyly, the first time she had ever done so in her life.
"Oh, thanks," Emma replied. "I love your hair!" she added with a confident smile.
"I'm a seventh year Ravenclaw," Emma replied with a smile as she dragged her astronomy textbook out of her bag. "Do you have any idea what we're learning today in class?" she asked curiously.
"Woah, even older than Katie!" then she turned to Emma's question. "I'm not sure, but I do hope it's interesting. My mum and dad didn't put me in this class for no reason! At least, I don't think so. I heard that we were going to start out tryiing to read the runes. How are I supposed to do that if I don't even know how to write them??"
"It's okay that you can't write them," Emma said with a laugh. "I'm sure the professor will adequately teach about writing them. After all, why would you be here if you could already read and write ancient runes?" she asked.
"True. But I'm not sure if I can learn all of them by the end of the year," she said, looking just a little worried. "Do you think we're expected to know the majority of them?"
"I doubt it," Emma replied. "I've taken Ancient Runes for the past three years, and I honestly haven't learned about half of them by now."
Naomi said: "Ooh! Does being in Ravenclaw mean you're a geek? Cause that's what my sister said."....Gwen laughed. "Not technically since there are some Ravenclaws that aren't geeks and nerds but I probably could be classified as a nerd or geek. But really being in Ravenclaw dosn't really mean you have to be." Gwen said.
"Okay, so maybe being able to recite the score of every Professional Quidditch match since 1927 is a bit geeky, but other than that, we're perfectly normal," Emma added.
"Woah!" Annie's eyes widened at the mere thought of having to memorize that. Then she regained some composure, and stated, "Oh, that's what I thought, cause Katie's a liar. Once she told me that if I was nice to a man in a car, he would give me candy. He didn't. Instead I got kidnapped."
"Sounds like you've got quite the sister," Emma commented.
"16," Annie said, rolling her eyes. "She thinks she knows everything there is to know about everything. And she's usually pretty good at convincing me of that!"
"That's a typical older sister for you. Are you going to the dance on Friday?" Emma asked.
"No!! Cooties!!" she said, not knowing of her sister's plot for her. ((A.K.A yes, she just doesn't know it))
"Come on, it'll be fun," Emma said. "And boys don't have cooties," she said with a laugh.
"Yeah, and going to the dance doesn't nessisarily mean you have to hang with boys, if you are that scared." Gwen said.
"You could just hang out with us," Emma said.
"Yes they do!! I saw one on Katie's friend!!" she practically screamed. Then she calmed a litle. "I guess it would be okay, if you were there..... and no boys."
"Boys aren't that bad," Emma consoled her. "I should introduce you to Swaroop sometime. That would be an awkward encounter."
"You just told us that your sister has tricked you on many things. Are you sure that's not one of them?" Gwen said.
"He's a Gryffindor," Emma replied.
"I guess.... for when I'm a LLLOOTTTT older. ((Gwen)) How old is he? ((Emma))" she asked suspiciously. "I only talk to boys younger than 9 and older than 30."
Annie saw him, estimated that he was not in her category of boys to talk to, and slid a little farther away. ((don't take it personally-- she dislikes guys--she's a 1st year))
"Just so you know Annie I meant that you should keep your sister's trickyness in mind when you make desisions based on what she says," Gwen said, correcting her previous statement.
Emma glanced in Scott's direction as he sat down before turning back to the conversation.
"Oooohh.. that's probably a good idea. Even thought I always think that but end up doing what she says. Don't ask me why, maybe she puts a spell on me or some-- hey!! Maybe that's it!" she said excitedly.
"I'm sure she'll be overjoyed," Emma said.
"My mother, or Katie? Cause to be honest, neither would be very erm.... overjoyed. At all," Annie asked, not used to sarcasm.
"Why am I not surprised," Emma muttered.
Annie then turned to another subject. "So, what about your guys' families? How many siblings do you have? Do you have as mean of a sister as I do?"
