I'm giving my dad a kindle for his bday and I want to fill it with at least 10 or 20 good "guy books". He's into scifi and humor books. He was in the Navy so military fiction would probably be good too. I don't even know where to begin! Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!

I only read horror and romance But the Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry is full of conspiracy, secret government groups, crazed terrorisits, zombies, nazis the list goes on. I read the first two books.
Patient Zero
The Dragon Factory
suzanne brockman has a GREAT military based romance suspense series that's a best seller. It has great military history (well from a character POV) and touching romance.
If I think of more I will list them. Working in a bookstore I heard Tom Clancy is a great military type guy's author :)
I second the Tom Clancy nomination as he has great military type fiction novels. They've been made into alot of popular movies. The only one I've read of his is The Hunt for Red October, which was also a movie starring Sean Connery. Is he into cars? Jeremy Clarkson is one of the hosts of UK's Top Gear and was a newspaper columnist as well. He put together a whole set of books over the years that were compilations of his articles. They are mostly about cars, but he's got a great sense of humor, although a british one. My british husband turned me onto his books. Bit too gear head for me, lol, but I like the british humor worked in.
If you'd like something just completely funny... try Sh*t My Dad Says by Justin Halpern. It was hilarious.
Don't forget some old military classics that were turned into movies:
The Eagle Has Landed by Jack Higgins
Where Eagles Dare by Alistar MacLain
Dirty Dozen by E.M. Nathanson
The Guns of Navarone by Alistair MacLean
While I'm not fond of characterization of something called "guy books" since what you like to read is based on what you like or dislike, not your gender, I would recommend
. There's a reason that book spent many, many weeks on the bestseller list.
That's such a lovely idea for a present, I hope your dad likes it =]I'd second the Clive Cussler recommendation, you might also look into Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series, Michael Crichton, Dave Gibbons, Dan Brown...
Bill Bryson writes humorous books. And Rob Grant has written a few humorous sci fi books.
Hope this helps!
There are books written for genders tho :) 'chicklit' being one style. I get guy books can be for anyone tho...true...
