Discuss A Clash of Kings! Please hide any major spoilers under a spoiler cut :)

Stephanie (stephyblue) | 23 comments Just starting this one today. I don't know why I waited so long to continue this series since I adored A Game of Thrones, and the general consensus is that A Clash of Kings is even better.

Krista (leia1912) | 12 comments It is. The books definitely get better the farther you get into them! (I haven't finished the last, so I can't include that yet in my judgement, but I've noticed I definitely enjoy them more as I get further into them/have more invested in the characters.)

Stevie | 1 comments I just started this and it's already grabbed me wholeheartedly! But I do hear they get better as the series goes and I hope it's true!

Stephanie (stephyblue) | 23 comments Boy this one really toyed with my emotions! I read most of it while at work and I became so engrossed I'd completely forget my surroundings. This book, in fact the whole series, is one of the rare that I bought on both my ebook and paperback. After reading the first two on my Kobo I decided I just had to own the physical copies. (view spoiler) Also the fact that every chapter is written under a different character's perspective is very interesting because you're not sure who to root for! Can't they all be kings? (I still have a soft spot for Daenarys, so, Khaleesi ftw.)

Mia (mia-culpa) | 67 comments Yeah my favorite thing of the series, is for sure the different POVs. I love how deeply we get to know all these different characters, which means I end up liking almost all of them. Or at least understanding them.

HDU with your "even though he's a Lannister" :P

I just started this recently too! I can't wait to see how the Robb Catelyn stuff is different because I know ONTD was practically in tears over how the Robb Catelyn storyline was changed in the show.

I got really excited when Jaqen showed up, here for that.

I really love how well Martin seems to speak for each character, how he does make it feel so different each time we change POVs.

My brother read the book first and he said he's quitting the series bookwise and just continuing with the show but I doubt I'll be like that. I'm really eager to get to Storm of Swords and see what the famed Red Wedding is all about o-o

Hm this one feels a bit slower? Like I'm about 40% now and I feel like I've been reading for ages. I've found I read these slower than other books though because there is so much detail to soak up I don't want to miss anything but still. I feel like I've looked into forever and back into the infinite abyss of 'minor stuff happening.'

Chen | 2 comments I'm reading this one now, after season 2 is done and I've already read books 2-5, so this is weird.
