Does Will really love Ellie, because he's leting her go without a fight. I think that maybe he's love for her isn't strong enough. It's not strong enough to survive the obsticles their love will face.

At the end of the book Will told Ellie that he loved her and she should never forget that. Theres a lot of reasons why they cant be together and it's explained in the next book. Will thinks that Michael will take her away from him which is why he let her go. He'd rather be her friend and have her close than not have her at all.
Depends would they just be better off with out me? Like if I was with them would it cause them tons of problems. I mean I would want to but sometimes I think there's a point when you have to let go.
I think that he is trying to do what's best for Ellie. He doesn't want her to get in trouble with anyone since he doesn't know exactly what they'll do to her. But if you read the second book you will see how much you misjudged Will.
Wouldn't you want what's best for the one you love? Michael made it clear that both of them would be executed if they took it further. If they let it go, stayed as friends and 'comrades', they could both live in each other's presence. Will knew that if he took it further, he'd get Ellie executed. Then he'd be responsible for her death.
