I'd like to nominate Railsea by China Miéville. It's a book I've been anticipating for along time. A railway over the sea, what could be more awesome? It's listed as both fantasy and science fiction, but it's shelved as fantasy more. If it's too much scifi to be nominated I understand.
I'm going to nominate The Death of the Necromancer by Martha Wells. It seems interesting and possibly a bit dark - which suits my mood, currently.

I'd like to nominate Blood Songby Anthony Ryan. This is an "indie author" but I've been impressed with the high sales ranking and large number of 5-star reviews. I've downloaded and started reading it on my own and so far I'm really enjoying it.

We try to keep things available to as many readers as possible--we don't prohibit ebooks, but by their nature, it will limit participants even further.
Ah thanks for letting me know, to be honest I didn't even look at that, but will for future nominations.

I just checked amazon and while there are some reasonably priced used copies, new versions start at $55.
Also found some decently priced used copies on alibris.com and other used sites, but it seems to be OOP, in general, and I didn't see any e-copies.
I also wasn't able to find it in my library system.
So availability might be an issue.

That is really disappointing news - the book is wonderful - how do fabulous titles like this one slip between the cracks? I've always felt it is one of Wells' best works.
I was greatly looking forward to seeing how you got on with this one, Colleen.

If Death of the Necromancer is out, what about Song of the Beast by Carol Berg? It's a memorable stand alone I would not mind reading again.
I lucked out and just bought Song of the Beast at a paperback sale, because I've seen it recommended so often on GR. :)
How about The War of the Flowers? Its a standalone, and the group has not read or really discussed any Tad Williams, plus it on my tbr list for this month.

This month, all fantasy is eligible, epic or urban. Probably, we should stick to titles we haven't read in the past year.
Oh--feel free to gently campaign or 'sell' your choice. I know people's reasons often sway me more than the book description.
