So I have to know... Who is Darby's character based on? You? Someone you know? Do you wish you were more like him?

Darby is based on a combination of people I grew up with or worked with in my life. There is, to some extent, a bit of me in Darby. I write what I know, so I pull a lot from my life experiences or from the experiences of others I know. Whatever is more real, I use. Also Darby's relationship with Tav is based on various relationships I had with people or was able to see between others.

Do I wish I were more like Darby? Well he's bold and he's not afraid to go against the grain and take chances. I like that about him. Most people won't do that. They rather blend in with the masses. He and I are alike in that way. I also have no filter on my mouth and say what's on my mind. It has it's pros and cons.
