Completed Tasks: JuneOrchards by Holly Thompson
-I think the title shows you where the nature comes in :)
Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park
-Most of this book is about a young man running through the wilderness of Africa
Points Earned this month: 4
Total Points: 126
Complete Tasks for June:It's time to move beyond this theme in my personal reading. The last two weeks have been nice to read Great Outdoors books; I've enjoyed their quiet nature. But it is time to return to civilization.
Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
-Main character finds himself stranded in the Alaska wilderness.
Mountain Born by Elizabeth Yates
-A lovely book about shepherding. Nights are spent in the rolling hills to stave off the wolves.
The Courage of Sarah Noble by Alice Dalgliesh
-Main character travels through the wilderness with her father to build a new home.
Points Earned this month: 4
Total Points: 18
Dark Life by Kat FallsBook takes place underwater, but I think it fits the theme because pioneers are cultivating it like the historical homesteads. Wilderness can be underwater, right? :)
Total points: 14
Damosel: In Which the Lady of the Lake Renders a Frank and Often Startling Account of her Wondrous Life and Times by Stephanie Spinner Takes place mainly in or by a lake. :)
The Black Cauldron by Lloyd Alexander. Most of the book takes place outdoors as the heroes travel from one the woods to the marshes and back again.

Completed Tasks: JuneWithout Tess by Marcella Pixley
Tess and Lizzie often go to the lake to fish or row. There’s also more to it, but it’d give away too much.
Points Earned this month: 5
Total Points: 127
Completed Tasks for June:I know I said I was done with this theme, and I actually have moved on to a personal theme of running (either the title has running involved or a character is a runner of sorts). Surprisingly, this book fits both themes.
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson
Points Earned: 1
Total Points: 19
Completed Tasks for June:I must say, I like when challenges include the "Juv Fic" allowance. Having 4 kids makes it easy to gain some points.
The Biggest Bear by Lynd Ward
This book is about a boy who befriends a bear in the wilderness. Sweet story...because of the maple sugar.
Points Earned: 1
Total Points: 20
