Elizabeth Eulberg has taken a new spin on the much loved classic Pride and Prejudice. She has not only set it in modern times but also in high school. Her story is interesting as she is able to put the complex web of English society and what it admired into a 21st Century America boarding school.

Prom and Prejudice by Elizabeth Eulberg was a cute book about Pride and Prejudice being set in high school. It was the best version of a modern remake I have ever read. Elizabeth and Darcy are written perfectly. Elizabeth, as she is more modern, knocks Wickham out; something I wish Elizabeth could have done in the original. It will never be as good as the actual book, but is a really fun read. There are a few changes as in the book Elizabeth is a scholarship student attending the prestigious school Longbourn for Girls, which has a counterpart, Pemberly for Boys. Her roommate and best friend is Jane Netherfield who has a little sister named Lydia. But these changes don't take away from the story.
I'm not sure the essence of Austen's works is preserved when it takes on a modern setting...of course, that may not be the intent.I'm not a fan of Bridget Jones ;)
I began reading the first chapter and fell in love with the story but stopped because I had so many books to read so I'll start again quite soon.
This was a good book. It did stick closely to the original, but there were some changes that made it unique. I keep hoping that she comes out with another one.

Yes I have read The Lonely Hearts Club. I thought that it was really good as well. Definitly not Austen but still very good.

Yes, she wrote Darcy so well.Collins was great too, I love how boring they make him. Every interaction made me laugh
Yes they did! I also like the character of Lydia, she reminds me of the Lydia from the movie with Keira Knightley.
I just started and finished it today, inspired by this posting. I really liked it! Especially how all the names were tied in some way "Mr. Meryton" "Claudia Reynolds" etc. I also really liked Elizabeth Bennet as a character.
