Young Adult Book Reading Challenges discussion

Welcome to YA Book Club's sixth quarterly Reading Challenge!

Rules

Duration: June 1, 2012 - August 31, 2012. (Please feel free to take extra 10 days to compensate for the delay in posting this challenge)

We are a YA Book Club, so all books should be young adult.

You have 3 months to read 10 YA books that satisfy following requirements:

1) Read a book which was nominated for or won the Cybils award. This award given each year by bloggers for the year's best children's and young adult titles. Information about the award is here.

2) Read a book that is a new release published in June, July or August of 2012. Goodreads offers lists of the most popular new releases by month, they might help you to make your choices - June, July and August. (If you have difficulties obtaining these new books, you can read a release from the same months in 2011).

3) Read a book with a cover that has a boy/young man featured on it, his face, silhouette, body. (I know, it can be a real challenge with all the books with white girls in prom dresses on the covers.)

4) Read a book whose title starts with one of the letters of the word SUMMER.

5) It's time to go through books that have been on our TBRs for a LONG time again. Read one of the 10 YA books that have been on your to-read list the longest.

6) Read a book with a character who likes to do what are considered nerdy things - reading, knitting, sewing, playing Dungeons & Dragons, etc.

7) Read a book that belongs to high or urban fantasy genre.

8) Read a book set in a war zone or in a politically unstable place, with fighting or unrest involved.

9) Read a book with a character who plays sports.

10) Read a book that has been turned or was optioned to be turned into a movie or a TV show. (Plenty of those these days, it seems.)

I would appreciate any better suggestions for number 6, my bookshelf appears to have ran out of nerds. And I admit my enthusiasm for The Fault in Our Stars has waned.
