FREADOM
description

Mineola Memorial Library has a blog featuring a “Book of the Day.” Each book listed in the blog is accompanied by a link to read the first chapter and to the library's card catalog. The blog archives are organized by “Must Reads for 2010” and “Must Reads for 2011.” For this task celebrate your freedom to read, and choose one book from the FREADOM blog to read and comment on. You may also choose a book from this banned book list (contains selections appealing to children) as an option.

Crystal Arcand | 85 comments I read In the Night Kitchen from the banned book list to all of the children for this challenge. I regularly encourage our kids to read banned books, lol. (31 pages)

The Golden Compass
Pullman,Phillip 399 pages

My nephew has acquired his sister’s habit of performing a character and story analysis on every book he reads. Their father calls when they start a new book so I can (hopefully!) provide intelligent responses.
With school starting and extracurricular activities, they’ll slow down from a-book-every-two-days to two-a-week, so hopefully I’ll keep up with them.
