Not sure if this is where I ask this but it looked good to me. How do you link a post. For example, I opened a folder for all my challenges, so how do I copy my post in that challenge and put it in my folder?
Tracy, right-click the time stamp in the top right hand corner of the post in question and select 'copy link address' or something to that effect, and paste it where you want it i.e. right-click the comment writing box and select 'paste'. That will give you the link to that post.
Belinda, do you mean like Tracy in msg #5 - link or do you mean a link that's all pretty. How much do you need to learn, let us know and someone will fill you in on the how-to :)
We need to know where to start. LOL.
Ie. in the chess challenge, etc if I want to link back to my original post when I update. I've figured out how to link pages but not posts...
OK Posts are similar but different. If you look at the:
message 11: by Belinda -> time link
right click on the time link and click "Copy Link Location"
It will look like this (I've just added a space so you can see it):

You can then post it where you like. To make it pretty just use the first link in the (some html is ok) link.
Have a go and post if you have any problems :)
I'm sure this is a stupid question I see the copy URL link at the bottom of my page( I'm on an IPhone ) but when I want to copy words from a post to add it to my post I can't seem to find a way to high-light the comment I want to copy ????? I'm sure this is simple but I can't seem to do it
Suzanne, I don't use a phone to link, but others do I'm sure. Though I seem to remember quite a few posts of people saying they'll add the links when they are on other devices and not on their phone. So maybe it is tricky.
Sandra I was thinking maybe it wasn't possible on a phone maybe that's why I can't do it makes me feel less like an idiot ... So I'll go with that.... Lol
Hi Suzanne. Are you using the Goodreads app, the mobile Goodreads site or the desktop version of the site in Safari (browser)? I might be able to help ya.
Yes that is what I'm talking about, I'm on my iPhone 6 plus -the Goodreads app. So then is there a way to copy a comment from someone else's post to add into your post....
As far as I'm aware, there isn't a way to copy/paste (other than the thread link itself) when using the app. On the app, you can only read and post a comment. But, if you use your browser to access the GR thread, you can copy/paste. If you use the desktop version instead of the mobile version of the website in your browser, you will have access to the same "add book/author" and (some html is ok) options that you have on your computer.Hope that helps.

Using Basic HTML in Posts
A Visual How-To : Edit text (bold, italics, underline,
strikeout), add direct links to books (Magic Slays) and authors (Ilona Andrews) on Goodreads, any web address (Goodreads), book covers
