Jace's eyes narrowed, staring into the clear water. The river water was calm, so he had to stay as still as possible. His muscles bunched up in anticipation, as his eyes darted from fish, to fish. A large, fat trout sluggishly made it's way way towards Jace. A blank expression was stuck on Jace's serious face as he raised his left arm, along with a spear. He waited no longer than a heart beat before his spear sliced into the river water, and pierced the scales and flesh of the trout. He quickly pulled the skewered fish back, and plopped it into the bucket that appeared ready to burst it was so full of other fish."That should be it." He said mutely, and daintily placed his spear on the floor of the boat. "Wait..." he spun on his heel, and looked into the water. "I almost forgot my net."
He reached down with ease, and heaved the fish-filled net, "Wow. More than I expected," he silently congratulated himself, them tossed the net beside the bucket. "Time to go back..." Jace muttered in an annoyed yet upset tone. He hated leaving this place, the one place where he could truly be alone.
Spring sat up in a tree, feeling the cool ocean breeze against her skin, as she laid down a dress she was making for herself.
Hunter went to the waterfront and sat down, looking at the horizon. Then he picked up a small pebble and started mumbling to it
Jace approached the quite boring shore, which had rocks wedged into every nook and cranny you could see, "Silence," he said in the awkward yet quiet air. It was mystical, really, at how wonderfully peaceful the beach was, yet the peace bored him. He was stuck inbewtween liking the activity and wokring hours by himself, yet he did not like it when it was boringly peaceful. He leaped off of the boat with the bucket, and placed it on a rock far up the shore. He began on his way back towards the net.
"Good." Jace replied flatly, and grabbed the fishing net. He hoisted it over his shoulder, and began to drag himself back to dry land.
Jace plopped the bag down, and sat down, wiping the line of sweat from his forehead. "Mom will be happy."
"yeah. That's quite a load you've got there" Hunter raised his eyebrows at all the fish. He wanted to offer help, but he knew what the answer would be with Jace.
Hunter smiled "that's nice. There are plenty of hungry people that'll love that" he sat, remembering some of the darker alleyways of the district
"Yeah. Kids are probably hungry. Sushi, crab, the favorite foods here." Jace shrugged, thinking about the kids.
"Yeah. I hear some people sharpen them into blades or knives, or some sort of weapon." Jace sighed, "For self defense, and some of them hope to be careers when they do that."
Hunter shook his head slightly. "who would even WANT to be in the games? No offense if your one of those, but I just don't see the fun in murdering eachother"
"I don't like or hate the games... I mean, as long as the Capitol leaves me alone, I'll leave them alone... I am a little angry at them. Most of my friends died in them." Jace admitted.
Hunter nodded, not overlooking it with the sympathy. "Yeah. I know what you mean" he murmured, remembering his life's stories
Spring watched as the boys talked below her. She pulls the needle through the cloth, throwing it down in her lap when the needle broke. Now she would need to make a new one.
Jace picked up a small rock, and threw it at the water, which skipped three times. "I wish that we wouldn't have started it... why would we break up? The districts still depend on eqchother."
Hunter smiled. "uuuh sure. Like, a ribcage or something?" he got out his fishing rod and went to the end of the dock "Fresh new needle, coming right up!" he said, casting the line in the water
"Either. I'd rather not waste my time fishing currently." Spring shrugged. "I have a date with the forest for a week."
"I fish, sow and hunt." Spring said, running a hand through her hair. "And I always go into the forest this time of year."
"Ah." Jace nodded, "MY friends have all been reaped at the reaping. Apparently, they're all dead now."
Spring nodded. "I could use the fame of winning. But I go into te forest, I have since I was twelve, to prepare for the possibility."
Spring shrugged. "It works. I basically starve myself and give me only a few weapons. Such as a dagger or a now and arrow."
Hunter flipped a dagger out of is sheath on his belt and cut open the fish. He ripped out three bones and handed them to her
