Elinor called to Alyssa from the ground as she looked up from her bedroom window, at the highest point of the castle. "The front door is locked, and so are the other windows except for yours! The back door is open, but the gate of the wall is locked too!" She showed Alyssa the keys then ran off in the other direction. She was leaving for a week, and Alyssa wasn't even aloud to leave their back garden. Of course, she wasn't aloud to, but it didn't mean that she didn't want to. She looked upwards to the roof, and jumped up, grabbing a ring and pulling it down. A trap door opened to reveal a secret attic, which held old boxes Alyssa had never had the chance to explore, a rope and a pair of gloves that she had found and hidden there. Alyssa quickly put on the gloves, grabbed the rope and shut the trap door. She tied the rope to a strong hook that was set into the stone walls right outside her window, then slid down it. She left the rope there, for when she got home in 6 days. Finally, she ran off into the woods, excited, for she could finally see the lights up close.
