Book Bin Science Fiction Book Club discussion

More copies of Consider Phlebas have been slow to arrive at the store. David, Jill and I were talking about how we didn't think that anyone, but most especially those who haven't been able to get it yet, will really be able to finish it the next couple of weeks. It's pretty long. I suggested that we have another option, something quick and fun, to read for July and talk about Consider Phlebus in August, though I'm sure what we've already read of it will come up in July, as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if many of us have already read A Wind in the Door; I know that all three of us in the store when we talked about it had. However, we all read it as kids, and I thought it would be fun to talk about it as adult science fiction readers. So that is on the table as something to quickly read and talk about in a couple of weeks, on the 18th of July, as well as whatever you've managed to read of Iain M. Banks.

Oh, I was going to say you should all read Bujold's Shards of Honor since it's only around 250 pages, but A Wind in the Door is an even better choice.

Haven't read A Wind In The Door, but have read A Wrinkle In Time back around middle school. Loved that book way back then, may have been first sci-fi book. May check out Wind In the Door.
