Can anyone please help me find a good pirate book, I am a 20yo male who loves pirate stories. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and really like watching the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I have a hard time trying to find pirate books to read, can anyone help me find a book or a collection of books about pirates???
I read this book 30 years ago and really enjoyed it. I can't exactly vouch for it because I don't remember much other than that I enjoyed reading it - so for what that's worth . . . On Stranger Tides
I have not read "Master and Commander" by Patrick O'Brian but the movie was very good. I'm sure the book is a good one. It's not about pirates per se but close enough.

I just finished "Silver and Flint" which is a prequel to Treasure Island by John Drake. This is the first in his prequel Trilogy. I thought it was highly entertaining from beginning to finish. I just started the second book "Pieces of Eight", so I'll post a short review once finished.
'The Liveship Traders' series has enough pirate story to quench your piratical thirst......Robin Hobb is the author. Liveship Traders consist of 'Ship of Magic'/ 'Mad Ship'/ 'Ship of Destiny'. "Corsair' by Chris Bunch...(after reading the back of book, definately have to read again). A series I have, but haven't read yet, is 'The Brethren of the Coast' by James L. Nelson.....the books are 'The Guardship'/'The Blackbirder'/'The Pirate Round'. I'm a huge piratical noval reader....whenever I come across one it's like finding buried treasure.....not many written about pirates. Not sure if Steven Spielberg is still doing it, but he's going to make a movie based on 'Pirate Latitudes'. 'On Stranger Tides' is definately a good read....old book. 'Under The Black Flag' is a non-fiction book....simple book. I'm writing way too much here....sorry. Have a good read, Graham.
You could try Dead Reckoning by...me. Ok, ok, I may be just a little bit biased, but I think it's rather good!
It's well researched, and as much attention has been paid to the ships and sailing them as the characters. Let me know what you think...
It's available in paperback or Kindle
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_n...
or on Smashwords for most other ereaders : https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...
and you can download a sample to try it out with no obligation
In hope,
Karen

There's a whole series by L.A. Meyer--the "Bloody Jack" series. Well written and entertaining series about a girl who is pretending to be a boy as she works aboard a ship in 18th c London.
Also try William Dietrich's "Ethan Gage" series...more adventure/ Indiana Jones type stories, but definately some swashbuckling going on!!!

If you ever come across any book from Black Pirate series by Emillio Salgari I would recommend them wholeheartedly :) You can also give a try to Sandokan by the same author.
