There is a legend about five Great Wizards who once ruled the human world. Back then, it was filled with magical creatures. And as always known, they were siblings. Each one of them ruled their own country and had people respect them for their power. Those five siblings never turned on each other never the less had war between themselves.
One day though their Father's ring was stolen. It meant a lot to each one of them and to see that it was gone, they were taken by sadness. They started suspecting each other and with that, the wars had started between their countries. Many of their people died during wars and almost half of their households burnt down. Lies had been told, pacts had been made and the relationship between siblings had been broken.
As the wars had started, the world began to change. Creatures under blasts of magic began to turn into regular humans and soon after the whole world was human. At once as they saw that, they met up. Still feeling hatred towards each other, they made a deal. They will give their all powerful powers to the kids on the world and build an academy for them. In there they would learn how to control their powers to find the Father's ring.
Even though hate and distrust between siblings loosened up a bit, for centuries now the hate between wizards kids grew. So they were separated into different houses named after each of the siblings. They were put into houses where their own kind of wizards was to keep from fighting with other ones.
