After reading the Golden Lily(which I loved, by the way), I realized that it would be freaking epic if Rose were to come back just as things between Adrian and Sydney were heating up. I also just flat out miss her awesomeness. What do you think? Should Rose come back?

I absolutely agree. I loved Rose in Vampire Academy and can't seem to forget about her. She is one of my favorite characters and it would be just the cherry on top if she came into the next book.
I love rose so much...so is just so funny and witty and a total bad ass and i really would like to see her come back...but i wouldn't want her to cause conflict to sydney and adrian
I don't want her to come back. It would be great to see Lissa, Christian and Mia, but I started t hate Rose during Blood Promise and hated her even more at the end of Last Sacrifice. I don't want her to screw up this series!

Ha! I have to agree with you. Rose's cameo appearance in Bloodlines was already annoying enough. I would only tolerate her presence if she got her ass handed to her and got saved by Sydney. She needs to learn some humility.
Michelle wrote: "S.L.J. wrote: "I don't want her to come back. It would be great to see Lissa, Christian and Mia, but I started t hate Rose during Blood Promise and hated her even more at the end of Last Sacrifice...."LOL! Rose and humility don't fit in the sentence. :P
I really like Rose as a character but i don't want her to have anymore apperances in the next books, because it isn't her story and for me she doesn't fit into it anymore. I mean it would be kind of forced for her to also turn up in Californien.
oh it would be just amazing really.i mean roza coming when things are finally taking a turn .dat would be awasome.
I think it would be great for Rose to come back. She's a great character and I like her and Sydneys friendship.

I know her story's done with and I wouldn't want her back as a main character, but I think it'd be cool to see how the new and old characters mix.
Juliet wrote: "Steffi wrote: "I really like Rose as a character but i don't want her to have anymore apperances in the next books, because it isn't her story and for me she doesn't fit into it anymore. Michelle wrote: "Juliet wrote: "Steffi wrote: "I really like Rose as a character but i don't want her to have anymore apperances in the next books, because it isn't her story and for me she doesn't fit into it anym..."I agree, if they do go back to court it'll be the last book. They're in Palm Springs because Jill's life is at risk, why would they go back to court when some of the people there want her dead?
Michelle when you wrote Rose and humility I nearly went crosseyed. Rose is like the badgirl of the YA genre where badboys are abundant. I like how she's arrogant and strong and has no shame in it and how se dosen't apolgize for her words or actions. It may be crass and over the top at times and it can rub you the wrong way but doesn't stan around waiting for anyone to give or hand her anything and when she wants to do something she goes after it no hold's bar and damn the consequences. I love that she's that strong and she has the marks to prove it beside as another character once said, "Humility is for Saints and Loser, and I'm neither", fit's Rose perfectly!
Yessica wrote: "Michelle when you wrote Rose and humility I nearly went crosseyed. Rose is like the badgirl of the YA genre where badboys are abundant. SLJ I also had some mixed emotions about that but she is young and I remember being that young, which is no excuse, but sometime choices based on emotion and hurt end up destroying things around you. She showed some growth but should have shown more because of what she went through, however, I think she stayed true as a charcter and her personality from the beggining. Who knows now that she's with Dmitri and stable she'll grow a little more but Rose will alway's be Rose!
Yessica wrote: "SLJ I also had some mixed emotions about that but she is young and I remember being that young, which is no excuse, but sometime choices based on emotion and hurt end up destroying things around yo..."It was the moment that Rose said she couldn't break up with Adrian yet because he might come in handy later that I knew I hated her. That's not youthful mistakes, that's just plain horrible and manipulative.
Yessica wrote: "Michelle when you wrote Rose and humility I nearly went crosseyed. Rose is like the badgirl of the YA genre where badboys are abundant. Rose believes the end justifies the means. Yes, she is not afraid to go after what she wants but she doesn't care who she hurts in the process. If you want to go ahead and claim that to be a freaking quality to praise, go ahead. It has nothing to do with her gender. If Rose was a guy, I would still think she sucked ass.
True that was harsh and mean but she's a character and Richelle mead made her that way. Maybe one day she'll answer as to why she made Rose make several bad decisions for personal gain. However, being maipulative and horrible to people is collective to both young and old, people use people all the time it's not right but it happens. Besides Richelle's take on her charcters is very human, in their emotions and decisions. I didn't agree with Rose on many aspects and I know it turned off alot of people from her which I understand because it was heartless but I still love certain aspect of her and find it hard to swollow others. Sorry I'm just ranting and you probably want to beat me up!
Yessica wrote: "True that was harsh and mean but she's a character and Richelle mead made her that way. I think Richelle's success is because she creates such controversial characters. Rose pretty much dances between the lines of villainy and goodness. For my personal taste, she crosses the line in what I find endearing in a character. I think the last two books tipped the balance against her character to me. I liked her best in Frostbite.
It's also the fact that she never had to answer for her mistakes. She got detention/probation/yelled at and that was it. She got locked away for a crime she didn't commit but that was a major plot point so it had to happen. Eddie called her out on her letting Dimitri live and allowing him to kill a bunch of innocent people but a few pages later all was forgiven. She was never punished for what happened with Vickor, never had to redem herself for what she did to Adrian and Jill, hell in Bloodlines, she didn't so much as look at Adrian. She's still worshiped and praised even though she destroyed alot of peoples lives.
If she had screwed up, been punished then worked hard to redem herself, then my opinion would be different but she didn't. She just got away with hurting people.
That is something I cannot stand.
SLJ that is true but she did do most of those thing out of love ...and selfishness. And I agree with Michelle she does dance the line between protaganist and antagonist and yes her actions toward the end were the worst. But Richelle made her this way and I can see and understand how her actions could make people turn against her and end up not liking her at all. Like I said I love some things about her and can't stand others. But back to if Rose comes back or not as a side charcter for a few brief line, I think it' sokay as long as she doesn't take over. I think if Richelle does bring her back for something it will be to confirm that Adrian wasen't really in love with her and dosen't have any lingering feeling towards her.
I don't think she dances a line. Batman dances a line. Rose just does what she thinks is best and usually it's not what's best.
I keep hoping Rose comes back. I dont like this series as much I liked the VA. I am having a hard time getting into this new series I mean I put these book down and read three other while i was trying to finish Golden Lily so Rose in this series would help i think.

No matter what 'greater good' was served. That's like saying, 'let's sacrfice a virgin for the good of mankind'.
As Dean said: "If that's how you win wars, then I don't wan't to win."
If others have to suffer so that someone can have thier happily ever after then it isn't deserved. Which is why I hate the Twilight ending.

Resna wrote: "Juliet wrote: "After reading the Golden Lily(which I loved, by the way), I realized that it would be freaking epic if Rose were to come back just as things between Adrian and Sydney were heating up..."Sydney is the calm version of Rose but she thinks with her head not heart.
I much prefer Sydney as a protagonist and adore her relationship with Adrian. While I didn't hate Rose, I enjoyed the secondary characters in VA MUCH more than her and found her relationship with Dmitri to be "meh." VA was one of my first experiences in reading a series where I found myself finishing the series b/c the plot elements and characters other than the main protagonist were enough to keep me reading. So, I guess if it came to it, I'd be okay with Rose coming back as long as she remained firmly in the background.
Okay, so I've read all the comments and would just like to edit my original post (I asked the question in the first place). When I said I wanted Rose to come back, I meant as a side character in maybe the last book, say if they returned to court. She would not be a main character again. I wouldn't want her taking light away from Sydney and Adrian.
Its interesting looking at people's opinions on Rose. I find that everyone is assuming that she is supposed to be perfect but in real life no one is perfect everyone has their flaws and that is probably what Richelle Mead was trying to do. Yeah, Rose made some mistakes, huge mistakes, but you have to remember that Rose is a hormonal 18 year old, who has always acted before she thought about it and worried about the consequences later especially when someone she loves is in danger. where as Sydney is the opposite in some way but the same in others, she would do anything she could to save the ones she loves but she always thinks about things before she acts, she is very mature for her age and she wouldn't be the hormonal teenager like Rose as Sydney hasn't had a boyfriend before let alone kissed anyone. Well anyway basically Rose isn't perfect and that's probably how Richelle wants it because she wanted to make Rose seem human and realistic but at least Rose does what she does for the people she loves (the situation with Dimitri is different, i know, but she just found the love of her life, what would you have done if you knew there was a way to save them?).
Stephanie wrote: "Its interesting looking at people's opinions on Rose. She always had flaws which was what made me like her character in the first 3 novels. I thought she was better than so many other YA characters out there.
But after the 4th book, she just shed any kind of morals that she had before. She didn't make mistakes, she delibrately did the wrong thing and thats why I don't like her.
I can easily forgive someone that tries and screws up but she knew exactly what she was doing when she manipulated Adrian for his money, knew exactly what she was doing when she broke a criminal out of prision and knew exactly what she was doing when she cheated on her boyfriend.
These weren't the mistakes of an inexperienced teenager, they were just plain mean and wrong.
Have anyone read Adrian's lost chapter? It's on YouTube.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBrjiw...
He said it would break he's heart to see Rose with Dmitri. Adrian will never be the same. (And i love the Adrian we meet in frost bite.)
No matter what I still love Rose and do wish to see her in an occasional appearance. I like Sydney but she's still too tame for my taste.
I TOTALLY AGREE WE NEED ROSE THE BADASS TO COME BACK AND ITS TOTALLY OVBIOUS THAT ADRIAN ISNT OVER ROSE AND WHEN SYDNEY WALKED AWAY IT WAS TOTALLY SAD THEY SHOULD BE TOGETHER IF ADRIAN WAS A HUMAN NOT MORORIO(FORGOT HOW TO SPELL IT LOL)
Yessica wrote: "No matter what I still love Rose and do wish to see her in an occasional appearance. I like Sydney but she's still too tame for my taste."That's kind of how I feel too. I really like Sydney but I miss Rose's wildness and impulsiveness.

Amen.
Amen.
It would be cool if Rose show up but this is about Sydeney so i dont want Rose stealing the spotlight from Sydeney.
Nardos wrote: "It would be cool if Rose show up but this is about Sydeney so i dont want Rose stealing the spotlight from Sydeney."Rose should come back, just long enough to get her ass kicked. Then she should leave.
Rose does need to learn humility but Sydney got her out of numerous sticky situations in Last Sacrifice. Rose does not need to be in any more books, because her story is complete. I want to know what is going on at court. From Sydney's point of view.

yes, i completely agree with you.

Then again I was upset when I read the The Last Sacrifice because it was the last one and i fell in love with Rose and Dimitri. Whats y'alls thoughts on the vampire academy movie coming out (February 14,2014)
Yessica wrote: "No matter what I still love Rose and do wish to see her in an occasional appearance. I like Sydney but she's still too tame for my taste."Thats Right ... I know that Rose maybe made bad decisions about Adrian, but thats why I have Loved her personality so much ...because she is Autentic and she feels so real(with good and bad things).
