Trent walks down the street near houses and nearly trips over a girl on the ground. He leans down and asks softly in a sweet concerned voice, "Are you okay?"
He takes it and shakes firmly. Then, he cracks a smile, before saying "Is your friend okay too? I saw her run by me and she looked upset..."
"The seam." He answers, frowning. "I assume this is your house?"
He smiles back. "What happened to you? Your covered in bruises." He says, taking in her profile.
His eyebrows raise. "You fell?"
He shakes his head. "I'm not sure I believe you, but your business is your business..."
Trent nodded, eyes big. "yeah, I do. Go ahead."
His eyebrows raised. "Why?" He shook his head. He just couldn't understand why anybody would hurt their family.
He frowned and turned, hearing Karana's friend. He turned towards her, and dragged Karana over. "Hi. Are you okay?" He asked Poppie.
Trent followed Karana, and sat next to Poppie. "I agree. I'm not so sure you are." He steadied her body with an arm around her, and looked to Karana for help.
Trent gently pulled her hand away from her face. "That needs some medical attention. Or at least water." He told her.
"It's okay." He said softly. "I can help you. But yes you do need help."
"I'm sure it will leave one." Trent said. "It's deep." He sighs. He thought he had it bad with no family, but these two seemed to have it worse. He wondered who the 'he' the girl was talking about was.
Trent sits for a minute, giving her space, but slid down and stood behind her, genuinely worried.
Trent back up and sat with his back against the tree. He still watched Poppie.
"What's your name?" he asked gently.
Trent could tell she didn't like to talk, but he wanted her to trust him so he could help her.
"Nice to meet you." Terrible thoughts ran through her head. Poppie plugged her ears and shook hr head saying." No...No..."
He jumped up, looking for an attacker. "Whats wrong?" He asked.
Trent moved closer, wondering what was ailing the poor girl. He sat down closer to her, didn't touch her, scared he would scare her.
She shook her head harder when finally she screamed, all went silent. Poppie breathed hard as they faded. She took off running.
Trent watched her go. The girl obviously had some serious problems and Trent wanted to help, but she was being awfully difficult. He looked at his feet, wondering what to do.
"Not really." He sighed. "You don't look too good yourself though." Trent commented.
