Post an introduction of yourself. Why you joined this group? Why do you feel strange, weird or misunderstood?

Here's mine:

I'M Fabio from Genoa, Italy. I've 19 years old and i feel strange just because my peers ( is it right? Peers? People whit my same age? XD) can't understand me, and i often argue whit them or feel bad for this. I'm ankward, insecure, i hate discoteques and i'm a vegetarian and a non-drinker, but my life is not so boring as it can seem. I'm a writer and a drummer, i have a fantastic girlfriend and i won some poetry contests. Is it great? Yes and...no. I can be happy but i can feel realized, i think about my life and i still feel i miss something...i'm too good whit others, and they think i'm an idiot just because i hate violence. Sometimes it's like my thoughts are totally different from the people i talk with, like i'm from another world, and i hate it, cause it make me feel like a big big big big mistake. Sometimes i just feel weak, even at school, where i'm good in Italian but a total idiot in other subects, and teachers tell me i should make more thought i try, and they don't understand i'm just a teenager whitout a direction.
I read, write and play drum a lot just to demonstrate myself i have some skills in something.

Ok, here's myself, sorry for the English, i'm not soo good. Be as honest as me, don't be afraid to be judged. Try to describe your self and show your beauty ^__^

I hope in a lot of posts!

Hi!

I'm Tyanna! I was invited by Elena. :) I am 17 yers old and am working full-time at Case New Holland. (Look it up! :)) I am also a student going into my senior year in high school! I love everything pink and sparkly but I am not super girly. I love my nephew with all of my heart. I have been in an amazing relationship for two years! I love reading contemporary romance books YA. But I sometimes enjoy paranormal books. As long as there's a little fluffy action I want it! :)

rai ♡ | 3 comments Hi, I'm Marshanah. My favorite books are paranormal romances. I have a cat named Muffin. I have four sisters and one brother, me being the youngest. I'm new to watching and reading anime/manga. I live in Illinois. My favorite tv shows are: the Vampire Diaries and Teen Wolf. My favorite YA author is Julie Kagawa. I'm soon to be a sophmore in high school when summer ends. And my favorite things to eat are chinese food and pizza. :)

Hola. :)

All right. I'm Elena. I'll be a senior when school starts. I'll be seventeen in ten days and I'm excited because then I'll be the dancing queen. (got the joke? because of the song? ok whatever)
My favorite color is dark blue. You know when at night you go out and you look up at the sky and it looks black but it's actually a really dark shade of blue? That blue. I also love red and black, though.
As for books, I won't deny having a soft spot for YA romances, but in the long run I just look for some kind of lesson in books. Be it whatever genre.
I have a saying that goes, "move on and make the best of it." So when something "bad" happens to me I try not to let it faze me. I try to look at the bright side, always. :)
I love travelling and mostly I love meeting people from other countries because languages are my passion.
Okay I think I've said enough!

Have a nice day. :)

Hey. My name is Emily. I am 15 years old, live in a small town called Collingullie in Australia, and am in year 10 at school.
My favourite colour is blue, but not weird blues. My hair is blonde. I hate pink(the colour). Black is the most amazing colour, but people tell me that I can't choose black as my favourite colour -something to do with black being the presence of all colours.
I am an outcast in my town, simply because I am different. If this were medieval times, I swear I would be dead. I don't dress to the fashions-I wear what I want and what looks good on me and what I can afford. I don't listen to pop music, simply because I believe there is better music out there-I listen to Alternative, alternative rock, & indie rock, although this is just what I mostly listen to. I read a lot of genres-sci fi, fantasy, romance, realistic, mystery, thrillers etc.
I am one of those people who does what they like, and if other people have a problem with it, then they can just go have a problem with it somewhere that I don't have to know about it.
Some people say I am smart. Some people say I'm cool. Most people say I'm a loser, I'm weird, and they seem to think that because I am different than them I am not as good as them.
A lot of people think I am emotionless - this is false, I am plenty full of emotion, I just don't like letting people know what I think/feel about things because there are some things better left unsaid. I try not to get too close to people, because, to be honest I am afraid of getting hurt by them. I have never had a boyfriend, am a virgin, have never kissed anyone, and I am dead scared of getting that close to someone, and being intimate with someone.
All this just reinforces my belief that life is short, life is crap, and life is not fair in any way. And I believe that we should make the most of what we got, no matter how much or how little that is, and we should be constantly be looking on the bright side of life.
And I really, really want to travel the world-mostly Europe :)

message 10: by Lydia (new)

Lydia (somewhere-only-we-know) | 4 comments Wow, Emily I couldn't agree with you more!
Hi, I'm Lydia I'm 16 living in Pennsylvania USA. I mostly listen to Alternative stuff like breaking benjamin. And a lot of times my friends get on my case for reading all time but I don't really care lol! I agree with Emily, if somebody has a problem they can take their problem elsewhere because I'm not going to indulge it.
I guess you could say I'm smart, but I'm not valedictorian. I do a lot of theater at school and when I'm home try to work on my stories or read. I definitely don't hang out with the "cool" kids at school, my group is kind of the kids that are very outgoing and somewhat loud so people think we're weird. I'm definitely not one of those people who like to talk about their feelings and stuff unless its some of my close friends that I've known since I was two. Honestly, why would I give someone that kind of information about myself that they don't really need to know.
Like emily said, life is short, life is crap, and its not fair! Couldn't have said it better myself! :D

message 18: by Teresa (last edited Aug 04, 2012 01:18AM) (new)

Teresa (koalateabooks) Hi everyone!
I am Teresa, Australian raised Vietnamese 18yo, and currently studying in a Librarian course full time in W.A, Perth. I'm an avid reader, a (what i like to think) committed writer, an occasional artist and patisserie, an amateur at piano and guitar and a DERP face. (LOL) I am a Tumblr and youtuber, I listen to nearly any genre of music, from Beethoven to Bullet for my Valentine to Big Bang (Kpop), and I'm the type of girl who'd rather finish off her TBR pile than go out clubbing on a Friday night. I accept my bookworm side and my dorkish ways, because that's me, but I'm not so perfect like other people think.

I find like I don't fit anywhere and that people confuse me for a shy quiet person, when really I'm just someone who only opens up when I become comfortable with new people. During high school, I was a floater, someone who hung out with the popular kids, the nerds, the loners, the geeks, and the loud ones. I didn't specifically belong anywhere. I would just find myself hanging out with different people everyday. I feel weird because of the side the world sees of me. At home, I didn't have a perfect family, my parents were divorced, my sisters were cruel, and everyday during high school, I felt like I had to put a smile up and act like I was like any other ordinary kid. Eventually, my walls cracked, and I moved out in my last year of high school, which is why I'm living on my own now - which is awesome because my living room has no T.V, just shelves and shelves of books.

Um...I have no boyfriend (awks). I've never been kissed. I've had boys ask me out but they were just the wrong time wrong place, and people tend to dislike my not-so-optimistic feelings about love (who can blame me?) But I feel like I'm a realistic sort of person, but I do sometimes like to believe in happy endings and dreams. If I could, I would love to live in my dreams. (This coming from a person who can control her dreams - LOL).

So yeah...there's more to me than meets the eye, and I believe that I'll have to make my life better for myself because no one is going to do it.

If anyone wants to get to know me better, my tumblr is always a good place to start. (I believe that a person's blog says a lot about them.) :)

I like Big Bang too! I mean I've listened to some of their songs and they're nice. :)

message 24: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (koalateabooks) Awesome :) I'm not a total Kpop fan, but I've listened to them since 2006-2007. I liked some of their older songs, like my fav one by them which is Lies.

Stephanie (stephg617) | 1 comments I'm Stephanie from Kentucky, USA. I am apparently way older than all of you, but I am a bit "weird". I have two young boys, and a husband, sort of.. we're separated right now, but still kind of together. I don't think either of us has a clue what we're doing.. I love to read, always have, but lately it's more of an escape from my own world and into a world that can only exist in imaginations.

message 26: by Manfred (new)

Manfred Cruz | 10 comments Hello!! I'm Manfred from Norco, California. I'm 16 and I attend RCC in my free time when not reading, listening to awesome music, playing video games or running(in that order). I love reading all kinds of books though I do tend to stay in the Fantasy, Sci-fi area.
My tendency to drop everything and tune out when I start reading hasn't made me the most popular person around campus, but the friends I do have are amazing(though they still think I'm nuts for reading as much as I do).
When things get bad in life, as they tend to do, I usually grab a book and push everything outside of my little bubble of temporary bliss. This however only works until I finish the book, which tends to be pretty fast, so I'm always on the lookout for a new author or series that'll keep me occupied.

message 27: by Leah (new)

Leah Ann | 5 comments Hello! I'm Leah Ann from the Philippines. I'm 22 and I am an electronics engineer. I love reading a lot. And I wanna be a writer. But sadly, I don't have much time for that. This group came at a very right time because I have been feeling down lately. I am still looking for a job but I feel it's taking a little long. I feel stuck. I hate it when time passes by and i don't have anything to do. I am a little weird because I love reading a lot. Not that it's a bad thing. Reading makes me feel good. It gives me hope and it was sort of an escape route for me. My life right now is a little boring. And I feel useless. Anyway, thank you for inviting me in this group (it was Elena who invited me). I hope I can find friends here!!!

message 28: by Leah (new)

Leah Ann | 5 comments And oh! I also love music. I listen to any genre of songs. I love song lyrics a lot. Especially those that I can relate to. I Love the color yellow 'cause it's a happy color. And the color of wisdom. Someday, I would want to travel to different countries like those in Europe. I want to be the type of person who is "going places"
I collect quotes from the books I read. And I am a daydreamer. I also make lucky stars origami. I write my wishes and thoughts there and I collect them in a jar. Okay, I guess that's it! (^-^)v

message 29: by Iffy (new)

Iffy (an_iffy_thought) Hi,

I find these boxes really awkward because more often than not I find i really have to think about what I have to say...

I prefer on the spot questions and some sort of spontaneity.

I'm 16. Love books, currently flicking through some of the classics.

A wannabe drummer (am really crap. T'is another story)

Love music, am a rock fan. stuff like Black Keys or Jack White. (Yes I see the juxtaposition)

This is the first group I'm on, so I'm not sure how it works... Cheerio.

message 30: by Manfred (new)

Manfred Cruz | 10 comments HI NEW PEOPLE!!! It's really exciting to see some new faces in the group and all! First Leah! Hey! Job hunting sucks. I'm looking for one but hey! I'm sure we'll both find one! I wish to travel too!!! Maybe Europe although I kind of one to visit the Sahara and trek through there.

Iffy! Hey! Loving books is great! Books are fantabulous!!! Hehehe I tried drumming but the hands and feet all moving at the same time confused me. And as to how the group works? I dunno. Talk about stuff. Books! Music! Funny stuff! Whatever. Anyways welcome to everybody!

message 31: by Leah (new)

Leah Ann | 5 comments Hey, I'm back! I just wanna say that I already get a job! It's so cool. But as expected, it's kinda stressful. And now that I have a job (that keeps me busy), my book reading time is lessen. I can only read on Sundays... I guess I'll just make it work...
How's everyone doing?

message 32: by Manfred (new)

Manfred Cruz | 10 comments Can't say as to everyone but I'm doing great! School has begun and summer session is a pain. My reading time has also gone down drastically. That sucks majorly. Meh. School.
