Candy Golems, like Candy Wife from the Marvelous Misadventure of Flapjack, are made from candy bio-mass. Their Queen, the Golem Queen, looks like Candy Wife.

Gingerbread Men are Golems who herd Cotton Candy Sheep with Candy Canes and live in Gingerbread Houses up north.

No, not based off of a book. Golems can either be made of random candy, these are created by Candy People, while Gingerbread People are natural-made golems.
