Can somebody define suspense for me? Or provide some examples of popular books in the genre?EDIT: I've just seen the Top 10 suspense author list, colour me red.

Good choices Michael, but if we can't have In Cold Blood can we have my other suggestion The Chatham School Affair for the older book? It sounds like a great suspense book (and I have it on my shelf!)..

Do you have a suggestion for a recent release one?
I suggest something from Graham Greene for the classic, perhaps Our Man in Havana or A Gun for Sale. Maybe The One from the Other, the point at which Philip Kerr rebooted his Bernie Gunther series, for the modern one?

Great I'm glad it's a good one :) I've listed it down as an older nomination because it said it was first published in 1996 - is that okay?
