Aria Ahmer (viramage) Do you write stories, poetry, anything?!? Tell us why here :D And where do you write? For anything?

I write novels, poetry, short stories, reviews, and I write for two online newspapers :) I love to write because I found my passion through a hard time of depression. My characters really helped me out and they are like my best friend >:D I love my stories and the places they take me. :)

Ariel (cannibalcutie) | 10 comments I have a similar story. Inspired by my hardships, I began to write but I thought it would help others to hear my experience. I also write other stories on widely unique topics with controversial underlining. I want to entertain people and open their minds to whole new worlds the way books did for me when I was little. ^_^

It's fun too! :P

Rue (rue11) | 8 comments I'm writing a novel it's called The Best Things in Life. It's About a girl named Amelia Brendon who is 1/4 Adrian-American 1/4 Mexican and 1/2 puerto-Rican. (she's mixed) she has just started 8th grade and has had the worst nickname ever since she was 5. Ami (ah-mi). She's detirmended to kick it in time for high school. 8th grade is gonna be the hardest year of Ami's life.

I will write a little snip-it of the story sometime this week.

Ella (ellarosewood) | 14 comments I love to write. I started writing when I was little. I would tell myself stories that never seemed to end. Now, I write them down. Not the silly ones that had giants eating us, but the ones others would enjoy. I never make it very far with my stories, they tend to wither and die, but writing soothes me and gives me something to do. That is why I write.
I am currently working on three novels and i have a few others I'm going to work on once I finish them. I don't really write for anything now, but I did just start writing for an online newspaper that's run by one of Aria's friends. Hopefully it will become a gateway to a bright future.

Charity (charryk) | 10 comments I write all the time. It started when I was little...I was very creative and the things I played as a kid have become some of the foundations for the stories I write now!
I'm currently working on a novel that I hope to have published!
I have tons of stories that I've started and not gotten anywhere with (i think we all tend to that). But I've finished several stories, both for competitions and school-related projects!
I write fantasy most of the time...I love creating my own worlds and systems.

message 11: by Aria (new)

Aria Ahmer (viramage) I havent quit any projects xD mostly if i dont think the story will be anything i add on to it until i think its good :DDDd I write fantasy too! Its awesome!

Madelaine Keam (thisistoostessful) I've been writing for a while, although I always get new story ideas in my brain I never end up finishing any of those stories. I plan to get to them eventually though and have a folder filled with the start of about 10 different stories. The only story I've ever completed was a short story that I recently entered in a competition.

As i always say when you have more than one story you REALLY wanna express and show to people. Always write a poem about it. Tell the story through a poem so you can still show people your new story but also keep working on the present on your writing.

Kando Commando (honesttoblog42) I'm writing a novel now and several graphic novels. I got into writing because I loved reading and literature and wanted to try my hand at it. Now I'm trying to perfect my writing in style because I want to become a graphic novelist/ animator and I love developing characters and having them interact.

Ashley Sandeman Yes, everything you've said rings very true for me too. I've always enjoyed writing. Then I tried getting a short story published and on online magazine called 3AM liked it, and then I just kept on writing. I write at a desk facing a wall. Windows distract me too much.

Madelaine, I wouldn't worry too much about not finishing stories. I've started lots that I've never finished, sometimes thousands of words in. I think Stephen King summed it up best: he said writing a story is like uncovering a fossil. You find a little fragment, and start to uncover more as you dig. Sometimes you find just a few pieces and you don't really know what you've found. Sometimes you find an entire skeleton.
