Rook woke up and rubbed his eyes. Luckily, today was a day off from the lab so he though he'd spend it at the mall.
He entered, throwing his keys onto his couch and walking away to put the brown bag of groceries on his kitchen counter. "Make yourself at home. Sorry it's a bit of a dump. I just started remodeling and I'm hopeless." He grinned sheepishly as he unpacked the foods.
He laughed. "That means I have to get you a housewarming gift. Sit, sit. I can't have my first guest just standing around. Do you want something? I've got juices and sodas..." he opened his fridge.
"I've got lemon, orange, pomegranate..." he stood up with a blush on his face. "Sorry. I'm just excited. I'll just get you the traditional lemon." He brought out the can and poured it into a cup before offering it to her. He brought himself a glass of water and sat down."So Violet. Which worlds have you been to?"
"That's alright. I actually knew someone from the Fire World. Just as reckless as the name suggests I guess. What do you do for a living?"
"A seeker! That's interesting. I work in the labs, making the pills we all know and love. So can you talk about the whole human finding business or is it a secret?" He was curious.
"I am the host. Allow me." He stopped her as he opened the pasta box and boiled the water. "Do you have a significant other?" He asked casually.
"None here either." he shrugged. "Anyway, we're both still young eh? Plenty of time and plenty of lives." He put his pasta into the boiling water.
"So do you have any amusing stories from across the galaxy? I'm afraid the Planet of Flowers is quite dull in that aspect."
"That's sad to hear. Souls do try and make each host planet as hospitable as possible." He tasted a piece of spaghetti to see whether it was cooked. Then he put on the sauce. "At least this place is good. Save the rebel population of course."
"It is a particularly good one. A simple yet enriching life." He mused, stirring his sauce. "Oh I'm assuming your body has no allergies?"
"That's good. Mine had one to peanuts but the healers fixed that right up." He now mixed the pasta and the sauce.
"I know. Especially since I've taken a liking to peanut butter." He grinned sheepishly as he started plating up. "To the table! The food is done."
"Why thank you. My cooking seems to be the only correct thing I can do." He gestured to the messy home. "Alright." He gave her a plate and sat himself down.
"Thank you. I take pride in it." He grinned at the compliment. "But the one thing I find annoying about these host bodies would have to be their need to be constantly exercised."
"It's strange for you to get implanted so late but have such good knowledge and control of the body." He began eating.
"That's good." Rook sighed. "I have a memory of family too though. This one girl." He shook his head. "I think she's still a free rebel, I don't know."
"No, no...it was more of sisterly feeling. She looks similar to me." He thought. "Did yours have anyone?"
"I wonder if we will ever meet. If these images become more than memories...a want if you will." He mused but thought again considering she was a seeker.
"I'm afraid to get her caught if she meant so much to my host body. It'll be better to leave her alone, I'm sure. she wouldn't be pleased to see me."
"Perhaps we should get off such a sad topic." He cleaned up the plates from the table, dumping them into the sink. "At least the rebels don't cause trouble with us."
"I certainly do not mind the company. Then take a seat on the couch if you want to stay a bit." He walked over and sat himself down.
"I'm not too sure. I haven't been here long enough to understand the basics of good conversation so I assume this is where we make comments and observations about the outside world." He mused.
"Tacos? A delight i have yet to taste. How about colour? The shades we see on this planet is quite intriguing."
"A deep green. Like the trees here. Never seen the likes of it, even on the planet of the flowers." He smiled, recalling the images. "How about...house type? What they build for themselves is quite unparalleled."
((I dunno, apartment, brownstone, semi-detached, etc.? I'm kinda out of ideas. Trying to think like an alien.))
