Joyce Laurel ... I'm just now publishing my debut young-adult, fantasy novella titled Sarana's Gift. I would be happy to send you a free, pre-publication pdf copy if you would like to read it ... and, perhaps, review it.

Tagline: Sarah has a hard decision to make. It seems like such a simple story ... but is it?

You can read more about it here:

Hope all is well with you.

P.Q. Glisson Hey Laurel-Rain,
Her Sanctuary by P.Q. Glisson
Thanks so much for becoming my friend on goodreads. I would love for you to check out my debut novel, Her Sanctuary, which is available at over 25,000 bookstore websites worldwide including amazon.com and The Book Depository and just recently, BooksonBoard.com.

As my friend, please feel free to peruse my profile and see what I'm currently working on.

Please help me spread the word by recommending it to your friends and if you are a member of a book club, perhaps you could suggest they put it on their reading list?

Being a self-published author, I AM the marketing team so any help you could give, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!

Laurel-Rain You're so welcome!

Krista Thanks for adding me as a friend!

Laurel-Rain No, I haven't yet acquired this book! But it's definitely on my list, and when I do read it, I will post a review.

message 24: by Ruby

Ruby Emam Hi, Laurel.
Did you get a chance to read The Little Black Fish? I see that I have attracted some attention from the group members. I am looking forward to your comments considering that although the book is for children yet, the author has wonderfully inserted messages in the story which shows a path only uderstandable by advanced readers and adults (in most cases).
I see many discussions posted for different books listed in this category and they are great discussions. But none asked me this question: "How can a children's book have "political" contents and be "banned?" Please tell me what you think.
Thanks a lot,

Laurel-Rain You're welcome! It's very reassuring to see the familiar names popping up on the various sites.

Shellie (Layers of Thought) Thanks for adding me as a GRs friend too. :)

In my first book, "An Accidental Life," I write about the twists and turns of our lives...Mine didn't start out with me planning to be a social worker...actually, I wanted to be a writer!

Jeannie Faulkner Barber Hi Laurel...and what a clever pen name. Thanks for being a friend. I thought I would grow up to be a social worker, but life's path didn't turn in that direction. Looking back now, I still believe that's where my heart is.
Blessings,

Laurel-Rain Janet wrote: "Hey Laurel, nice to meet you, and thanks for adding me as a friend. Are your novels considered mainstream or another genre?"

I think they're considered mainstream -- literary fiction and/or women's fiction.

message 16: by Janet

Betty Hi, Laurelkins,

Have been thinking of you today. Hope all is well. I just read about your new GR reviews. Those books sound interesting; wish I could read them all, but haven't read ALL of yours yet. Working on your Web of Tyranny. It sure is looong, but exciting, nonetheless.

Keep up the great work.

Hugs - Betty Dravis

Laurel-Rain Thanks, Chase...What a beautiful philosophy!

Chase Von Hi Laurel-Rain,

(Lovely name you know:)

And I was just reading your bio and didn't know that you were a counselor...

I thought you might like this...

Best wishes to you always
Sincerely,
Chase:)

That guilt built
The longer you stay
Incased in that tomb
The harder it becomes

Laurel-Rain Thanks, Betty...Yes, I think the female friendship thread is a common one in my books, but in "Embrace the Whirlwind," the focus is on how one abused child manages to overcome her past...And in "Chasing Stardust," the focus is really on the fantasy life of the main character. In fact, both characters in these books are actually deprived of that constant friendship factor -- the lack of an ongoing support network makes each woman's life more difficult.

Betty Hey, RAINYday,
I see you're using one of my quotes up there with all those "famous" ones. Wow! What an honor.
You're the best, my friend.
I'm almost ready to review AN ACCIDENTAL LIFE. I really liked it a lot. You are an excellent writer. Keep up the great work.
Are all your novels about female friendship that lats through the years? Do you plan on working in other genres?
You're good at it but you'd also be good at a psychological thriller or a plain, old ordinary thriller, too.
c u later,
Betty Dravis
