I never saw the movie but,you know the ending, what did you think? Did you think she was just going to reinvent the story as yet another act of atonement? It seemed to call into question the whole impossibility of atonement.

Jo Hi Moira =)
Thanks for the invite!
It's true, i just love a good romance!
Atonement will be forever in my pile of favorite books, it was just one of those stories that left a huge impact in me, the kind of story that stick with me. Oh neither to say i'm a big fan of the movie too.
Looking forward to chat about books with you :)

Nisha Thanks for the invite. You're right, we have very similar reading tastes. So recently, it's been difficult to find good HR to read. Any suggestions? :)

Elizabeth (Liz) Thanks for the friend invite, Moira:)

Holly *waves* Thanks for the friend request - I'm glad that we have many other books that we both liked. :) As for Game of Thrones, it was definitely not for me.

It's surprising how often fictional Moiras--few and far between they may be--are irritating or antagonistic!

I tried to download Amethyst Heat but couldn't access the page through your website. :(

Laura Hi Moira!
OMGsh! I didn't even think of someone seeing it as their name! oops! But yes, it was just a character who was irritating me ;)

That was really nice of Jill, I hope you like Highland Destiny. If you want to try me out but don't want to commit to the full-length novel just yet, I have a free download called Amethyst Heat :)

It looks like we have a lot of books in common-can't wait to chat with you!

Ronyell Thanks for the friend invite Moira! I'm glad that there's another reader who loves "Devil in Winter!" St. Vincent was such an awesome hero!

M.K. The best scene is where Thornton watches her carriage leave and whispers, "Look back at me." The expression on his face tells it all. I'm interested to hear about 'Mary Burton' when you're done. :)

message 7: by Jen

Jen Great to meet you, Moira. I hope you enjoy reading North and South—in a lot of ways it's superior to the mini-series, and in a few others it just can't compare to the drama. But I think it's up there with the best adaptations. :)

M.K. I really believe Harry Potter will be universal and eternal. My theory is that HP turned kids onto reading and that's why there's such an explosion of good YA novels...the kids just kept on reading. Yes! Have you checked out Rowling's Pottermore?

Neriah Hi Moira! Thank you very much for the lovely message with your request! :)

That's so cool that your daughter is reading Harry Potter- I hope it's something that can be passed on to generations to come. :)
Also I'm interested to finish the Time Traveler's Wife, I'll definitely post a little note with it when I'm done.

Thank you for your friendship, I look forward to seeing what you've been reading, too!

Have a nice weekend!
-Neriah

Lisa Kay Thanks for the friend-invite, Moira! I've heard of that quote, "I bought batteries..." I'll have to see if I have it added here on GoodReads. Looking forward to reading your reviews.
