Being an academic librarian, I know how busy a college instructor's life is, and I can relate to having scanty free time! Yes, Barb and I are well and doing alright (and hopefully still sane! :-) ), and hope you are too. Our second Aussie granddaughter, Willow Barbara, was born on Oct. 19; both mother and baby are doing well, and we're very thankful.
You're often in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you all the best, and hope you have a wonderful Christmas season (if you celebrate it)!

It isn't unlike me to lose friends because of my antics on GR (I am very, very, very, very nasty to trolls on my reviews and Q and As and have a controversial review up that tends to alienate people), but I wanted to make sure we stay in touch.
Also, I hope you're keeping safe and sane during these increasingly nutty times.
I've been working my head off (haven't had a free moment since I got hired this Summer) and so haven't been around here much, but I hope that you, Barb and family are doing alright.
I'd like to thank you both again for your support this past Spring, and I want you to know that I think of you often.
Have a good one.
Best,
MC

Thank you for the friend invitation, Stephanie! And thanks for the book recommendations, and the likes on several of my reviews. I'm looking forward to checking out your reviews soon, as well!

I saw that you rate the Jade del Cameron mysteries 5 stars. Not my normal cup of tea, but they have an unusual appeal to me. I added them to my public library "action-heroine" short list. Thanks for the tip!
Roger

Thank you for liking my latest review of Bigfoot Island by Eve Paludan. I enjoyed reading it.
Happy reading,
Charlotte

Best to you,
Charlotte

Thanks for accepting my friend request! I would also like to thank you for the likes of my book reviews.

Now, reading ON WRITING by Stephen King! Taking notes as usual! However, I am studying ~ then back to Writing Techniques of the Pros.

Am in awe of authors, like you, who read many books as a child. Now I can understand what I missed and how reading improves 'storytelling'... and I am filling the gap.

I'm not nearly as widely read as I'd like to be! A lot of the variety on my "read" shelf comes from my childhood, when I'd read just about any book that came to hand. (And I'd have listed a lot more of them if I could remember the author/title information; back then, I regrettably didn't pay as much attention to that kind of thing as I now wish I had. :-( )

Thank you for 'Like' of my recent review.
Best,
Charlotte

It's time I begin to devote some time to writing that novel and 2014 looks promising so am starting to make plans.
Best wishes to you in your work and Happy New Year. You're quite the reader. Your reviews are thorough... wow.

Happy Reading + Writing!

Thank you for wishing the success of my book, Werner. I hope to encourage people in the worthy pursuit of attending college.
Hope you enjoy the Fraser book. One day I'll have to reread and review it.

The library where I work has that particular Fraser book, if I'm not mistaken, along with several others by her. Thanks for the tip!

Not sure if I mentioned how much I enjoyed MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS by [Lady] Antonia Fraser. Some years ago, my daughter found it in Canada and gave me a perfect gift of it. You might enjoy.
Happy reading + writing,
Charlotte

Eve writes about a trained vampire hunter in her latest ebook, AFTERGLOW (Brotherhood of the Blade) that might interest you. Link: http://tinyurl.com/jwd7un4

I've been taking a look at your bookshelves (wow, impressive!) and I haven't been able to locate "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss, and that strikes me as weird seeing you have read a lot of sci-fi & fantasy books!
In any case, I think you might enjoy it!
See you around!

Best wishes for a successful 2013!
