i was able to predict a lot of what happened even though i was hoping and praying that it didn’t. and you would think that i would be bored reading a somewhat predictable book. but nooooo. first of all, i love jennifer’s writing style and her ability to make every single chapter exciting. there isn’t a dull moment in the books which i haven’t experienced in a while.
also, i really loved to see poppy grow as a character and really step into her untapped potential. her confidence and her badass mentality had me drooling at the end of book. it’s so special to see these qualities in her that had always been there, but had remained suppressed and only shown around those she was close to.
and finally, despite how terrible it was, i’m really in love with the “love interest gets captured by the enemy” trope. i don’t know why.
and i’m just really in love with casteel. but i think everybody is at this point.
but i’ll admit i cringe at some of the things he says...more
