“If Jesus did not rise from the dead, that makes him a false prophet unworthy of our allegiance and no rational person should follow. But if Jesus did rise from the dead, it seems to me that he did so in confirmation of his personal and radical claims. And that gives us something to think about, which is exactly what happened to the first Christians.”
― Jeremiah J. Johnston, Body of Proof: The 7 Best Reasons to Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus--and Why It Matters Today

“If I were a preacher, I would preach nothing but practicing the presence of God. If I were to be responsible for guiding souls in the right direction, I would urge everyone to be aware of God's constant presence, if for no other reason than because His presence is a delight to our souls and spirits.”
― Brother Lawrence, The Practice of the Presence of God

“Another thing he mentioned was that our faith is too weak. Instead of letting faith rule our lives, we are guided by our petty, everyday, mechanical prayers, which are always changing. The church's only road to the perfection of Christ is faith.”
― Brother Lawrence, The Practice of the Presence of God

“Neither skill nor knowledge is needed to go to God, he added. All that is necessary is a heart dedicated entirely and solely to Him out of love for Him above all others.”
― Brother Lawrence, The Practice of the Presence of God
