Tris and Four exhibit courageous and brave behaviour and attitude, this quote best represents the book's subject of power. Tris and four demonstrate bravery by fleeing and embarking on a journey beyond the wall, as well as placing their lives in danger in order to avoid the memory serum from being administered to others in the bureau compound. While being a divergent like Tris, Four is a notable character because despite suffering from tremendous psychological trauma, he is (nevertheless) able to face his fears. Tris' bravery is the cause of her death because she gave her life for the cause, and Tris plays with the concept of self sacrifice by doing so. I kind of like this book, so I rate it a 3/5. Allegiant is an intriguing and tense dystopian fiction novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you want to read it again and again. It has a lot of good parts. For example, when Tris, Four, Tori, Christina, Caleb, and Peter are attempting to escape and go over the wall, Dauntless is right behind them and on the verge of killing them. It is very nerve racking because I thought they would not be able to escape at that point. They make it over the wall, which is a relief, but Tori is killed, which is also unexpected. In addition, another part of the book that gives me goosebumps is when David reveales that he has been watching Tris since she was a child and that he wants to use the memory serum to reset experiment cities that has gotten out of hand and simply remove all of the people's memories who were "genetically damaged." Also, Tris demonstrates her love for four, and Christina demonstrates bravery, friendship, and fearlessness when they rescue four after he is imprisoned. The battle scene is very interesting and entertaining to watch. It is very cool to see them use the drones they receive from District 13 to their advantage. However, I did not like the resolution because Tris, the main character, dies for out of nowhere. It is such a bad ending that it kind of made me a bit angry because usually the main character does not die in such a lame way. In addition, I did not like how there was a dual perspective narration. It starts to get confusing at some points, not knowing who is currently talking. In addition, I did not like how a large portion of the book stretches out more than it needs to. There is a lot of walking and talking that could have been cut short like when Four and Tris was walking around the wall. It should have been shorter, but for some reason they stretched the conversation out for quite a while. ...more "
