Being "hardwired to believe " is not necessarily a gift. Such people are often close minded, not curious, exclusive, bereft of empathy for anyone not likewise "hardwired".
Some have unquestioning faith because uncertainty scares them shitless and others just find it easier to accept (i.e. be faithful) than go through the effort and anxiety of questioning one's basic beliefs.
