But WAS interesting was the romance. like WOW.

The sexual tension between Rhysand and Feyre was consuming. Literally I kept wanting to read everyday just do find out if they were going to kiss. LIKE THEY WERE SO CLOSE TO KISSING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE BOOK. And when it happened I freaked out. and like chapter 55? hot dangggg

Anyways, the romance was super well played out. I loved the slow burn and all of it. I was so down for it and loved every second of it. That was the main driving force behind why I loved this book. I did feel like the romance took up a majority of the plot. This book felt like a romance book + fantasy rather than a fantasy book + romance. Let me just say, I'm not complaining, but still. If it wasn't for the romance, I probably wouldn't have loved it so much.

I have to say I did like the ending (as in the last like paragraph) when it was like the High Lady of the Night Court went to the Spring Court or whatever aka that she's spying for Rhys. I liked that and the twist about how she got the extra tattoo the night before and officially became the High Lady the night before and such. I liked that part of the ending but nothing really else (like the sisters, the cauldron, the book, the mating between Lucien and Elain, etc.)

My bestie, Sarah Brooke (who I read this with which was SO FUNNNN) made a really good point and comparison to Harry Potter. Harry Potter is obviously a fantastic wizard and can do some pretty incredible stuff. But it took YEARS for him to learn this stuff and he messed up quite a lot. Like yeah, he's good at Defense Against The Dark Arts but he's not perfect cause he sucked real bad at History and other classes aka HE'S NOT PERFECT. But the comparison was made between Harry Potter and Feyre in the fact that they're both incredible skilled and gifted for their kind. Except Feyre like discovered it all in like 6 months and it really aggravated us. Like I felt like every chapter, she found she could do something new. And it just made it so unrealistic? Like girl what can't you do? I love the fact that Harry Potter is not perfect and makes mistakes but I felt like SJM just wanted Feyre to be the most skilled and gifted person EVER and i felt like SJM was like "hhmm wonder what other things we can make her good at" and it was just unrealistic and bluntly just annoying. They would occassionally mention how she would practice with Cassian or Rhys but never went into detail about it. ...more "
