Let’s start with Cal—our quirky, sarcastic, emotionally damaged vigilante with a grenade for a brain and a moral compass that’s… well, tilted. He’s a walking disaster in the most charmingly psychotic way, dropping bodies like confetti and blasting robot music while the world burns around him. The man is a menace, but gods help me—I adore him. And his sisters? Also badasses in their own way. The kind of sibling chaos you want in your corner when you’re dragging dead bodies around.

Then we have Ryan, our grumpy, ghost-seeing mortician who’s just trying to live a quiet life with his witchy mom and boxer sister. He’s all calm and shadows, until Cal literally crashes into his life, bleeding and dragging danger in behind him. From there, it’s spirals and sparks. Enemies to reluctant partners to lovers—with dead bodies as a bonding exercise.

Opposites attract? Try opposites explode. Cal blackmails Ryan into helping with cleanup jobs, because hey, what do a hitman and a funeral director have in common? Dead F#ckig Bodies. Obviously.

And sure, it starts off a little goofy—with sass and snark flying—but don’t be fooled. When this book decides to punch you in the emotional gut, it does not hold back. Trauma, loss, grief, and healing get thrown into the mix like ingredients in a murder stew, and the result? A book that makes you laugh while it peels your heart open.

And yes, “ginger” was said 151 times, and somehow… I loved every single one. The obsession didn't get old. It became part of the charm.

Also, major shoutout to Voxy—the wordless, loyal shadow who follows Cal through hell and back, just trying to keep his unhinged ass alive. That’s real friendship.

I’ve officially become obsessed with the author. Her writing is my exact brand of twisted—equal parts murder, dark humour, found family, trauma, and smut, all mixed together like witchcraft. I’m already off to grab whatever poison she’s serving next.
