I felt like I was in a waking dream, intoxicated by the grime, the noise, and the hustle and bustle of the city, walking through the soundtrack of my life. It was all so loud and intense, more exhilarating and overwhelming than anything I could have imagined and all the pictures I’d already conjured in my mind while listening to “53rd & 3rd” or “Walk on the Wild Side.”
