I tell you this to break your heart, by which I mean only that it break open and never close again to the rest of the world.
Many people see brokenness where there is pure love. The heart was meant to be broken. Ego gets us to guard our hearts in fear, but love sets us free. Through our self-love/respect and having boundaries, our hearts are automatically protected the way they need to be without fear. This is the type of guarding of the heart that the bible refers to. We can distinguish guarding our hearts in fear from guarding our hearts in love because fear holds us back and prevents us from living/taking risks and following our soul-guidance while guarding in love is through self-love. Self-love isn't selfish, but it is selfless because when we love ourselves, we can truly love others and accept that life isn't about us as much as it is about connection and sharing our light with others. Guarding our hearts in love is for the greater good of all of humanity. Our cup consistently overflows this way. Guarding our heart in fear rules us whereas guarding our heart in love is ruled by us because our divine essence is love and fear is an illusion. Life doesn't happen to us. We happen to life. We are life. Therein lies the difference: fear/victim-mentality/control vs. acceptance/transmutation/flow. A shattered heart is a blessing. Crack the egg 'shell' to experience the sunny side.

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
