progress:  On page 140. "ohhhhh holy moly that fight with the old lady was crazy

this is so good!!!!! it feels like an idea that was too ambitious for the original movie, and I love how it was expanded upon and breathed into life here. poor mulan's identity crisis is going insane, "she was always inspired by the men in her father's stories and wished she could do that as a girl" and I am eating it up"

Aiden Thomas
“I was starting to think you'd stood me up,' Julian said. He squinted at Yadriel. "Which one of us is Cinderella in this scenario?"
"I'm the fairy godmother," Yadriel managed to croak out. "I think that makes you the pumpkin.”
Aiden Thomas, Cemetery Boys

Jesse Andrews
“It's hard not to be obsessed with what could happen, but I should really just have the attitude of, what already has happened, if that's all I get, that's enough and I'm grateful.
I mean, it's not. But I am.”
Jesse Andrews, The Haters

Aiden Thomas
“Julian sang along, voice soft and mostly off-key. Yadriel felt himself smile. Julian’s singing was terrible but endearing. People who sang in front of other people with no sense of self-consciousness were a specific and rare breed that Yadriel was decidedly not.”
Aiden Thomas, Cemetery Boys

Heather Fawcett
“One doesn’t need magic if one knows enough stories.”
Heather Fawcett, Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries

Alexis Hall
“That's the thought that haunts the hunter-barque. If the vessel is lost, if all hands fall into the skies, then there's nobody to know what happened to you. Nobody to tell what beast or what machine or what act of indifferent nature or merciful divinity sent so many souls to their death.”
Alexis Hall, Hell's Heart
